Title: Mercenary colour schemes?
Post by: Blofeld on June 03, 2015, 05:51:31 PM
Does anyone have any ideas for a two or one gone colour scheme for some jerkins on the Perry foot mercenary figures? They're a fictional company so historical accuracy is not an issue. I'm looking for something striking that looks good on the table
Thanks

Why not go a bit early Landsknecht / Swiss with parti coloured or striped hose and single or halved colours on the jerkins. You could also mix in some buff / canvas for variety

Yellow and red checker patern or combination is always a winner

And mix it up, lots of colours, no uniform as such, possibly some field signs if you like.

Would be great for Maximilian's early campaigns in Swabia, Wars of Burgundian succession and not forgetting Stoke field

Milanese, Scots and Flemings.
Not very historical in any respect :)

For medieval, the later you to, the more the colour combinations should make your eyes bleed  :o
