Ok, everyone's doing it & I want to be popular! ;)
After seeing so many cool gaming reports and reading all the enthusiastic reviews, I couldn't resist any longer and got myself a copy of Lion Rampant. Last weekend, we had a first game, using my multi-based 15mm early medieval Spanish. Worked like a treat and the game was great fun (although we made a couple of mistakes, especially with the Zones of Control).

That looks very nice.
We usually ignore the zone of control rule. Or say that it only applies to enemy units.

Thanks!

Good to hear, I was thinking along the same lines… Applying the ZOC only to enemy units would make the game look more like a small battle than a skirmish, which fits better with my basing.

You should check out the Dux Rampant forum if you have any rules questions -

Thanks! This is a good idea, I'll register to the forum. I'd be interested in how others play big games (I've of course been watching your great displays, Eric!).

That YUKU format is a bear to get used to... >:(

Great report
I like the 3" ZOC for friendlies as it means you need to think a bit more about deployment and movement.

Hi!
We are slowly recovering from the house move (fortunately, everything survived the trip) and finally were up to a first game in the new flat. Lion Rampant again, as it's fast and we really enjoy it.
This time, we played the 'Messenger' scenario - for pictures and an AAR, visit https://wargamingraft.wordpress.com/2015/07/24/the-messenger-lion-rampant-aar/ (https://wargamingraft.wordpress.com/2015/07/24/the-messenger-lion-rampant-aar/)
