Title: Concrete walls
Post by: Zafarelli on 18 October 2008, 03:57:25 PM
I have experimented a bit with a new wall texture:

I tried to reproduce concrete cast in a shell of wooden planks. Not too sure of the correct terms here (my father came up with the German one, but I instantly forgot :) )

What do you think?

Very realistic. It really looks like some WW2 concrete buildings.

Thanks Olivier!

Here is a quick painted version:

It was only after I finished painting that I found the concrete/bunker section from the site mentioned in this thread (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=7909.0), but I still think it looks quite good. This might even turn into a new range of buildings for Pardulon 8)

HOOORAAAAY!

Industrial buildings...

Jens, let's game on it as soon as possible and play appropiate music!!!!
 ;D

Would the correct term be 'Holzverschalung'? A quick check on leo.org resulted in 'wooden lagging'. What about the native english speakers around here, would that be correct?  ???

These definitely look better than the first ones, carry on with it, quick!

Useful. Will it come as sheet styrene or resin?

You know, I just watched that Russian film Stalker this afternoon, and now I am seeing all sorts of possibilities from that photo. (Thinking of playing it out on the tabletop so I can try to figure out what the hell happened, mainly.)

Very nice work, Jens.  :)

Vikotnik, Holzverschalung wasn't it, it was a bit more complicated than that. Every profession has its own slang, I guess.

Hammershield, sheet styrene is out of the question, you'll never get this fine (barely visible, I know) woodgrain texture, so it will definitely be resin. Besides, I don't have the deep-drawing equipment to get decent results with styrene ;) I am not entirely sure what to do, though - just a few bunkers and tank traps, or a full-blown line of modular buildings? Don't know, really.

JollyBob, thanks!
