Just added this pack to our store. We think they will be useful as most of the Steppe types and as Eastern Sassanid allies. More packs will be added later this week.

Wow, just what I looking for . Some of the detail on the armor is incredible :)
Will the other nobles be lance armed or shooting bows?
-
There are 3 more packs that I know of, one with swords, one with lance upright and a mixed pack with at least 1 archer in it. Should not be long to wait as Adam thinks he will have most of them by Thursday.

Just curious. Are these suitable for Huns?

Nuts. There I was, happy with how my foray into the 17th and 18th centuries was going, quite content with my ancient and medieval collections, then I go and click on this thread ;D
Very, very nice figures!

Nice looking website, how do they scale with other manufactures .
-
how do they scale with other manufactures
I would say in the middle of the pack; slightly smaller than Musketeer/Footsore, slightly larger than Foundry Late Romans; but compatible to both.
-
Brilliant! Is there still going to be a separate Hun range?
-
Once Adam has the last pack of nobles with bow finished we will move onto the last mounted unit for this section of our catalog, that being steppe light horse archers, these I hope will be done with separate heads so they can be styled for whatever light horse you wish. So the answer is yes we will do Huns but as part of the steppe cavalry range.

Beautiful sculpts.

I can see plenty of uses for them in fantasy settings too.

Makuraners, say.

So no extra Huns but some packs of Hun heads? And/Or some late Roman heads for captured equipment?

The range isn't labelled Hun but we are of the opinion that the nobles done and the light horse to come will be perfect for Huns as well as a load of other steppe people hence the approach we decided upon. I will discuss with Adam what heads he wants to add for this and get back to you.

The animation is amazing !
Great job and congratulation to you, keith !
Now, we need some mounted casualties to make this range, a perfection ! o_o

These are, indeed, stunning sculpts. Mine arrived this week, very clean castings too. I like the fact that Keith gives us the option of buying the figures seperate from the horses as that gives us even more opportunities to convert or vary the end result. For example, I've got some excellent foundry Scythian horses in the draw waiting for someone to take them into battle. I'm going to do an entirely cavalry army on impetus size bases for Simon Millers To the Strongest rules. Can't wait to see the light cavalry, if they are half as good as their parthian light horse it will be amazing.
-
Sounds spiffing, Barry!
Love the details on those noble archers.
-
insanely nice figures... :o
Are there decals yet for the shields?
-
Transfers ar in the pipeline, should be available soon.

Keith, if you plan on doing separate heads for the light horse and/or the Sassanid foot - it would be nice if these heads were also sold separately. Even better if they were sold by type with some variety in each group (bare heads, Phrygian caps, etc.).
-
I will be placing an order as soon as the transfers are available. One question: the heads are separate or you can just remove the heads and separate heads might be available for conversions?
-
None of the heads on the packs completed so far are separate, they are all cast on. The light horse will have separate heads or at least that is the plan going into the designing stage.
The heads could be removed by twisting with pliers and then drilling out a neck hole but I ask why, their helmets etc. are just fine for that period Hun noble. The lighter cavalry will have mongol type hoods and caps as well as helmets of various designs including late Roman(or so I am led to believe).
As in all things Aventine, I will have to await the greens from Adam to have a definitive answer on these matters.
Hope that helps.
