Very cool looking diorama. What is it for ?

Hello,
I want to represente the indian tribes over time or Canada was french, because unfortunately many of thes tribes disappeared. This is to pay tribute to those men died for France, Englans, or simply to live free.
To date I created 4 dioramas, then 4 power point or I take photo by photo, the particuliarities of thess tribes (Museums informations, books, etc)
Clothings (leggings, mocassins, bags, etc.), the hairs, war paint, etc.
But I have some problems with my blog. Also do not hesitate to follow the adress given above.
I hope to see on the table games, indians with the peculiarities of each of these tribes and not always the same indian, jus with a different name....

Sounds like a great idea and wonderful project! I look forward to seeing more...

The file is 4,5 mb. How do you dend it? Even compressed it is 4,2mb
Do you have an email adress where I could send it?
-
Thanks for posting, I've been looking for exactly this kind of information!
Since I got started on my Song of Drums & Tomahawks project, I've wanted to build a couple different Native American forces, and I've been looking for some way of differentiating them that is supported by history. The Osprey book that I have is very nice, but unfortunately a bit lacking in that particular regard.
I would be interested in checking out some of your sources, too, if they're published in print or online. I read a little French, enough to cobble together a rudimentary understanding, and my wife is fluent, so I can get translations from her as necessary.

This is my email adress: eric.rotrou@orange.fr
If you want, I can send you the 4 power point (Fox indians, Weskarini (algonkins), Montagnais (Algonkins) and Mohawks (iroquois).
I finished a diorama on Iroquois Caughnawaga (mohawk french mission)
Next "work": indians Ottawa

For my sources, I cut books, internet, and museum.
For the Algonquins, excellent book : Affiquets, matachias et Vermillon of Marc Laberge.
Studies and drawing of Francis Back (montagnais, micmac, iroquois)
Museum of Ottawa and Internet
Mohawks, Museum Ottawa, Osprey's book, Internet (one site who are disaparesed , studies of Eric (Conquest Miniatures),
Caughanwaga, Francis Back, Museum Canada, and Internet.
Etc
Sincerely
-

More war paint for Mohawk

More war paint algonquins
-
And Montagnais, algonquins too but not paint the face for war!
-
Excellent Huron :)
Did Les Francais wear just leggings and a breach clout, same as the Indians?
-
For the" courreurs des bois", yes, many have as only breeclout and leggings as indians!
But for the soldiers of "Compagnies Franches de Marine" normaly no! Have leggings above the "chausse"
-
Excellent Huron :)

As Huron34 says, not normally, but it did happen at least once. The French leader of the attack on Braddock's column, de Beaujeu, was reportedly stripped to the waist and wore war paint at that battle. It makes a good excuse to use some artistic license.

Wow!!! Fantastic stuff. I love those Conquest Minis!
Good and useful posts! I wish I could do war paint as well...😃

I quite agree, they're the best sculpts out there for Native Americans. 8) 8) 8)

-
Exact AARON,
Many leaders or soldiers lived with the indians and thus got dressed and reflected the face or the body as them. The same goes for the tatoos.
They are numerous descriptions summits by officiers of the french regiments of lines confirming this facts.
-
Conquest has a wonderful range of miniatures and you have really brought them to life. Amazing work.
-
Thank's gentlemen
I hope you discover my future diorama of iroquois Kahnawake/Caughnawaga soon ;)
