Title: Genestealers in the Hive (Necromunda/40k 2nd edition)
Post by: baldlea on 20 June 2015, 09:21:25 PM
We recently played some Necromunda mixed with 2nd ed 40k. It was a simple "run from the bugs affair" but we loved it.

You can have a look here: http://crapidfire.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/ive-not-posted-in-while-but-our-game.html (http://crapidfire.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/ive-not-posted-in-while-but-our-game.html)

I think they were taken from "Inquisimunda" and seem largely the same as Genestealers from 2nd Edition 40k.

The Genestealer game wasn't part of our mini campaign so it didn't use any gang building rules.

Three of us used our gangs as they were at the end of our campaign and the other player picked up a load of stealers. He started with 12 on the table then added d6 (coming from random table edges) each turn.

It was just a narrative muckaround.

Yes...they are very powerful. Even more so in the cramped environment of a hive where you can't shoot at the things until they are upon you.

Proof that point systems are stupid at worst and a guide at best.
