Title: Artizan Designs Pulp Germans seeking Evil Mastermind
Post by: tabletop on January 03, 2007, 04:04:28 AM
I recently finished a bunch of Nasty Nazis (http://www.tabletop-terrain.com/archives/2007/01/03/723/) for Pulp Gaming in Egypt but I'm still looking for a suitably evil Mastermind.

I know Artizan Designs do a 'Herr Todt' (ie. Indiana Jones) type Gestapo gentleman but he doesn't really appeal for some reason (one of the few AD figures I don't want to own).

Can anybody here suggest a suitable 28mm figure to lead this rag tag bunch? Preferably metal? I've seen some great resin figures on the web but they were some odd scale (30mm plus).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Brigade Games has a 'Sinister ...something' in both Gestapo outfit and uniform (scroll down in their Pulp section)

They are pretty good, but this one is my favourite:

(I was just reading through the Pulp entries in you blog yesterday, Mr Tabletop! :)  Good stuff!)

Thanks for the tips everybody! I'll check out Brigade Games again - they have some great stuff, but one of the most awful web sites I've seen which I find very hard to navigate. I do like the look of their version of a 'Herr Todt' figure though...

Did I mention 'scroll down'

I think you're right. I happen to know a little bit of how to design user-friendly websites (did it for a living some years ago), and that one isn't. Godd to know that other people also aren't perfect in every respect, though!

I wonder what he's got in that briefcase... probably an ancient map showing the location of a dimensional portal sealed of by some ancient druids...

It's not a map to an ancient portal, it's a Gefliegentersaucen blueprint!

...and the portal will allow the Gefliegendensaucer to surface in the middle of New York to unleash its payload of V3-rockets....

Yeap, Major Kreipe is excellent. I'll pick him up for sure! Every evil mastermind does need a briefcase full of secret plans of course!

Wonder what's in his other hand though...a Mauser pistol hopefully.

Why don't you have the unit led by one of these "she wolves" from Pulp Figures:

http://www.pulpfigures.com/catcode.php?range=Wierd%20Menace&code=PWM&number=2&custID=64622221167965005

Or better yet, just build a second unit of those and get another evil mastermind...

Heh, now there's an original idea! The figures aren't bad either. Anybody know how they measure up to Artizan Designs 28mm WWII historics?

Mind you there's a fair bit of leeway I guess since ladies tend to be slighter than gentlemen, even she wolves!

Good Heavens! As I said in another topic... Pulp German is more difficult than I thought!

Mein Gott! Someone should collect all those gems of Pulp-Deutsch produced in this forum in an own topic/thread. 'Gefliegentersaucen', 'Vergeltungszwischenmahlzeit',... - this has to be saved for posterity!

Gruss,
