Title: A Different Way To Use Your 1970's / Modern 20 - 28mm Collection
Post by: Grimjack on 11 July 2015, 12:14:21 PM
Just wanted to give a bit of publicity to http://winterof79.blogspot.co.uk.

It's an interesting setting and we are having fun playing out suitable scenarios.

Also, the photos and other information on the Blog is excellent, with AAR's, bits of fiction and more.

Why not have a look and dig out those figures and vehicles which have been gathering dust?

New ways to use Cold War figs or with slight changes, moderns. Nice, I know what I'll be reading for the next week.

Winter of 79 has been around a while, and is one of my favourite blogs, but Mark's output has really gone up a notch of late and I feel myself getting dragged in once more! lol

An intriguing idea and deserving of more exposure methinks.

Not to take the spotlight of Mark's wonderful blog, but I run a similar blog based in Sunderland circa 1980.

I received done great figures from Mark and should have some eye candy up soon. It mixes creative writing and muniatures.

Well... a little bird tells me that British troops in shirtsleeves and glengarries ( ie 1 A&SH for Aden circa 1967) will soon be available. Paint them wearing OD pants and khaki  'Angola' shirts and you could use them for an IS role in Blighty. Of course it wouldn't be so much the Winter of '79 as midsummer of '79. See whether you can get a higher body count than an episode of Mid Somer Murders.
