Title: Asian Wizard Suggestions for frostgrave?
Post by: carlos13th on July 12, 2015, 10:49:35 PM
I am picking up a copy of Frostgrave and I am going to use models I already have including Samurai instead of buying new troops at least for te time being (as nice as the frost grave plastic soldiers are) this leaves with with a dilemma for what to use for wizards and apprentices. I dont mind if they are not clearly Japanese, Korean etc as long as they are vaguely Asian in clothing and theme and suitable as Wizards, do you have any suggestions?

At the moment I am leaning towards picking up some of the tales of the dragon kings range from Black Hat but I wanted to ask if you guys have any other suggestions before I put an order in.

There might be some conversion mileage in the Kensai range, other than that there's GCT Studios Bushido range, full of ideas and potential  :)

cheers

James

Thanks fella. Only problem with Bushido is that despite the great models they look a little too big compared to other 28mm ranges.

Kensei is worth a look though.

The old Clan War figure line has a lot of oriental wizard types.
Try ebay there are over 500 results for "clan war" ATM.

Valiant has several of them and are slowly expanding it back through the range (and I do mean SLOWLY as in they're screaming at the snails zooming past...)

Only problem with valiant is them being based on the US. Clan war for eBay is a good shout though. Will take a look.

Jade Triad Alchemists from Alkemy are some of my favourites. This is a link to them on the Alkemy site but shop around, a couple of them are usually available cheaply elsewhere.

North Star have a couple in their other Osprey packs: Black Dragon Tong

And in the Kung Fu Daemons:

Helldorado has some nice ones in the Immortals faction. Li Tsu Tsin in particular:

There are some more but I'm struggling right now... If they occur I shall pipe up  :D

Thank you for sharing. They are the first things I thought of when I started looking for Asian Wizards and are probably still winning because they are very cheap but also very nice.
