Title: Worms - where to get them?
Post by: Nick2729 on July 14, 2015, 09:11:26 AM
I know a few pics have been posted previously but could someone point me in the direction of a couple of manufacturers, please?

Many thanks

Nick

Reaper do this one (http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/worm/latest/77006):

D&D prepaints offer this Purple Worm:

Pathfinder prepaints, meanwhile, offer this Frost Worm:

They're my picks, anyway - there's a good few more out there, I'm sure!

Troll forged have some. Will have a whole lot more whenever their KS fulfills, (that's dragging on)

I'm rather tempted by the 'stubby' length of the Hellbores Monstrous Larvae set (http://fenrisgames.com/shop#!/FGWMLS-Hellbores-Monstrous-Larvae-set/p/50784200/category=9038550) from Fenris

Thanks for that link, Al.  They're new to me, and I like their Bileworms quite a lot!

Are you sure you aren't looking for these badasses by MJ Miniatures?

Are those even available after the Defiance Games incident?

Hmmm - this supplier seems to have them: http://www.michtoy.com/item-DEG-DFG004-Alien_War:_Aleutian_Swamp_Worms.html (http://www.michtoy.com/item-DEG-DFG004-Alien_War:_Aleutian_Swamp_Worms.html)
I'm assuming you're not referring to the cats' worms, which are hopefully truly oop.  :D

CP Miniatures, excellent service:
they have a worm and also a slug, which would make a nice variant.

(edit)
In fact the carnivoid plants on this page http://www.cpmodelsminiatures.co.uk/CP%20MODELS%2028MM%20SCI-FI%20-%20ALIENS.htm (http://www.cpmodelsminiatures.co.uk/CP%20MODELS%2028MM%20SCI-FI%20-%20ALIENS.htm) could also work.

And fresh off Belgian's Wargame News blog, Aequatheria from Meridian miniatures:

If you want something rather fun as a project, DM's craft has a pretty neat tutorial

Can't have enough worms. I just got the reaper bones one, very nice model, especially for the price. loads of fine details I wasn't really expecting.

Both I and my cat do hope that the cat-worms are OOP.  lol
All these other ones though, they look pretty promising.

The Reaper Bones worm is pretty good, and paints up well (if you can get the first coat to stick:
