Title: Blenheim 'Armor' Question
Post by: Major Weenie on July 19, 2015, 09:25:11 PM
Still plugging along on 'The Blenheim Project,'

So I bought some cavalry in breastplate and pot helmet, for my 'eventual' Bavarians.

Now I know that these chaps wore what's described as 'blackened' armor,
and I believe that it's 'blackened' by holding it over a smoky fire,
so that the soot seals off the armor from the air to prevent rusting.

All well and good...

But I've never painted that before.

Any (traditional LAF helpful) suggestions?

Thanks,
MW
