Title: Beastiary question

Some of the beasties have special abilities like Undead, Demon and animal. Where are the explanations for these abilities/skills?

They don't do anything intrinsically themselves.  Just act to designate the correct targets for the 'Control X' style spells.

Though in the FAQ at the top of the forum Joe has recommended that animals can't pick up treasure.
