Title: Base size for Treasure tokens?
Post by: grendal on 24 July 2015, 11:00:29 PM
It looks like the Nickstarter Treasure tokens are 25 mm but what do people think of larger bases?

I am currently making 2 "treasure" bases on 40 mm round wood discs...one is a frozen throne and the other is 2 barrels with a sword leaning against one. Not sure what the third on will be...maybe I will actually do a treasure chest.

I'm going with whatever looks best. I've used 30mm bases on my objective markers and some treasure markers and 25mm on other treasure tokens. If the larger bases look better then I'm all for it.

The weapons rack treasure token that came with the Nickstarter is about 45mm in width, so I don't really see 40mm as a problem at all. As long as you think they'll easily place among your terrain.

Everyone is running for the same treasure, so base size doesn't really make much difference. I suppose if you get too big, it will get in the way, but that's the only real limitation.

I'll be putting mine on 40mm bases. This way I can create small terrain pieces that can be used as terrain in games other than Frostgrave. I'll be starting with the Otherworld treasure packs, and then sculpting some pieces to make up the numbers.
