Title: Dunkirk to Darkness
Post by: Captaingeneral on 27 October 2008, 01:46:48 PM
Auton and I have been running a Wierd War II campaign for our local club, called Dunkirk to Darkness (D2D for short)

We have played 2 games in a planned series of 6 that will probably end up in the FuehrerBunker   :D

We are using Rattrap .45 rules with our own tweaking  ;)

The players take the role of special agents seconded to Special ops Force (Allied) known as S.O.F.A.

You can view the game reports on my website via this link

But here is a pic to whet your appetites! lol

Sweet!!!  :)

I hope you do a write-up of the events. I'd love to see what happens.

Thanks and Yes, the plan is to ensure a picture-rich write up of all the missions on the website, if I have time I'll try and do a potted version for LA.

Thanks. Are the control boards the new ones from Copplestone? What about the energy generator?

Really nice idea for a continual group game.

Well spotted they are indeed Copplestone, the big coils and such are scratchbuilt by Auton as was the workshop.

Excellent! I love the scenery and all the figures. The comic strip is great.
What sort of things did you have for encounters during the games?
Looking forward to the rest.

Thanks for the comments

Thanks also to Midismirnoff, your tales from Vergeltungswaffen, prompted me to post D2D

The encounters varied to match the games (and there are always a couple of blanks)

In the first game they were Guards, escaped POWs, wild dog etc

In the Dogsoldier one we had a Mangled corpse with its throat torn out!, german guards, a co-pilot (who actually caused the agents some bother) a box of silver bullets.

The players didn't get to find everything, wrench, very pistol, axe, chainsaw.....

You have to remember the players didn't encounter anything 'wierd' in the first game and were not expecting the Dogsoldiers this time around.

Next time..........who can say hehe

Great reports and an even greater storyline!

"Even though we took casualties, our brave injured soldiers, Captain Burton and Sgt Major Davies, have been granted indefinite leave to cooperate with the scientists at Porton Down and a special 48-hour pass every lunar month, lucky beggars!" :D

This was the feedback from Marcus who plays Major Roughshod

Captain Burton has given in to his romantic side and taken to long moonlight walks. Life is good. Except  the meat ration book doesn't have enough stamps to cater for his sudden craving for steak at 3 in the morning! Aahhooh! lol

These comments inspire the work! :D

Thanks for the comments. ::)

I hope to put episode two into comic book format soon and add it to the site, I'm not sure i have enuff suitable pics...we'll see.

Episode three plans are well advanced, can't say too much!
"Feind hoert mit" or "Careless talk costs lives" lol

Suffice it to say it will involve London, some famous people, and more strangeness....

Should be fixing a date for the game in November, later tonight.

Some great ideas for a campaign...trying not to start collecting WWW2 - would be so easy to fall into another "period", given i've already got pots of WW2....must resist....alright i bought some at FIASCO, but it was only for conversion purposes....honest.....
