Title: Looking for a figure from any genre or period with a sort of... overcloak?
Post by: FramFramson on July 26, 2015, 08:29:50 PM
I need a figure in a static, standing pose, wearing a plain sort of knee or thigh length all-around cloak. Something like a Victorian police overcoat, but closed? But this could be from any period or genre, so long as it's modern enough to have pants and shoes (and even if not, I might be able to do some surgery using legs from another figure).

I was going to just sculpt it on some legs, but I thought maybe there's something out there that I con convert?

Preferably a bit of a bigger fellow, but that's more a bonus than an absolute requirement.

This is what I'm going for:

Possibly... though I haven't seen anything in the EotD or Gothic Wars catalogues.

Maybe a monk or wizard from some other period, though usually their robes are full-length and therefore much too long. It needs to be quite plain.

That's my original plan and I'll just do that if I can't find anything. But it never hurts to ask, you know? ;)

Sorry Fram' just seemed a no-brainer, wasn't meaning to sound so smart. If it is a problem, find a donor figure, send it to me and I will gladly do penance by doing it for you (and that is a not meant to sound smart either, just a serious offer to help.)

No idea where it's from. Sorry.

I was thinking more Front Rank or Redoubt but not sure if they have anything suitable.

Closest I can think of is the 4th bloke along in Eureka's Victorian gentleman set

Some possible figures for conversion;

(If you can get one) Mark Copplestone's Masai Elder

Foundry's Shepherd

Foundry's missionary

Is it a mini of Kassa Hailu you're after? (not that I can think of any  :D)

Yep, I'm doing a Ras Kassa (loyal almost to a fault.) to go with Eric's Haile Selassie (along with a bodyguard/officer, but that's sorted already). I've found a donor head (thanks to Daeothar), which is the hard part, just need to get the body sorted.

Some close suggestions there (the shepherd would be pretty funny), but all of them need so much conversion that I expect it'll be easier to do it up from scratch.

Sorry Fram' just seemed a no-brainer, wasn't meaning to sound so smart. If it is a problem, find a donor figure, send it to me and I will gladly do penance by doing it for you (and that is a not meant to sound smart either, just a serious offer to help.)

Haha, no offense taken!

It shouldn't be a problem, I think, whether I find a donor figure or do it myself.
