Title: Warhammer 5th edition - undead army
Post by: Davea on 01 August 2015, 09:59:51 AM
I caught up with a couple of mates that I used to play Warhammer with about 10+ years ago.

We mostly played around the 5th Edition time - and played for fun not competition - we all had a few figures from earlier armies - and decided to give it a go again.

I still have a completely painted Dwarf army - but could not resist the temptation to start a new army

This is figure number one of my new undead army

Should get some more figures during the week - and go from there - hopefully can keep it to mostly metal using figures from the 90's to early 2000.

Great stuff. I love those old Grave Guard. Undead figures started getting a little weird when it was clear that they were having undead themed armour made for them, rather than just wearing whatever rusty old plate they were raised in.

Cool - "Herohammer" remains my favourite edition to this day (all those cards though...  o_o o_o)

Good start; I happen to like that particular model a lot!

As for Warhammer 5th... Well it won an Origins Award for "Best Fantasy or Science Fiction Miniatures Rules" in 1996  - a feat no other GW game managed before or since as far I know.

I hope you can get hold of the campaign packs too - I really liked those back in 5E. "Circle of Blood" was the undead pack, and "Grudge of Drong" was the Dwarf one. There was also "Idol of Gork", "Perilous Quest", and "Tears of Isha":)
