Here's a preview of our next release - the mighty and terrible Weed. This vengeful vegetable stands approximately 80mm high and has been sculpted by George Fairlamb. It's a resin cast and was painted by Andrew Taylor.
We can't quite decide on what's the front or back, so answers on postcard please.

Once we have the office move sorted out we'll make this available - so maybe out later this month if everything goes to plan.

The first pic depicts the front end. It's obvious from the bracket fungi which always grow on the left limbs knee (and never on the right) of viriditas ambulans.
-
As a Dutchman I can acknowledge that this is what weed looks like. :D
In all seriousness, looks like great for pulp games!
-
Wow! That's impressive. It reminds me of the plant mutant in the latest version of Youthful Genetically -altered Shinobi Semi-Aquatic Reptiles.
-
Will Bill and Ben follow?
Weeeeeeeed!
Flubba-lubba-lubba.

Yay, always knew my botanical interests would one day come in handy >:D

Aren't they both side views?
The long tentacle type pieces are not arms, it's a trunk and a tail - like an elephant.
-
Nice that! :)

No, no, no, Vanvlak is obviously confused by the scabbug that only LOOKS like bracket fungi. See, you can tell it's the other way by the manner of its leaning back to look upwards. These 'fellows' really love to bask in the moonlight.
Tentacles, indeed. *harrumph*

Front and back are animal concepts. Down with our heterotrophic oppressors!
Oh - nice model!

My terminal bud hangs in shame.

Every time I see this, I just think it needs a John Constantine standing next to it :) Well done, though!
-
I am thinking if I shouldn't get one for Strange Aeons... and Frostgrave (spring IS coming with the Thaw of the Liche Lord....) ::)

Whilst I agree with the tentacular harrumph, I must protest about the scabbug comment. The middle one on the left upper appendage IS a bracket fungus, only the other 4 are scabbugs.

Speciesist! ;D
Oh - nice model too :D :D
-
Love it! So many uses too. :-*

Oh, why can't we all just get a lawn!
Oh - nice model too :D :D
So say we all, AND the fine adherence of paint.
As the man once said, I'll be getting my hat...

That is not weed as in harmless and useful Ganja, you mad Dutchman! That's a Weed as in EVIL, DIABOLICAL TEXAS WEED THAT ATE YER LAWN, YER HOUSE PETS, AND JUST NOW CHASED YER WIFE AND KIDS UP ON THE ROOF OF YOUR HOUSE!! lol
It's rather brilliant, actually... reminds me too much of a few of the local flora I had to periodically remove from our HOA-mandated front lawn with a pound of Centex before they could eat one of our dogs.... lol

Thanks for all the kind comments gents!
-
What a fantastic creature!
Would make a great addition to a 50's horror inspired game. The Plant from Planet X!!!

Will Bill and Ben follow?

Maybe not Bill and Ben, but some accompanying Weedlings maybe? I hope that idea takes root!
-
Given the tone of the conversation so far, not Bill and Ben, but Bill and Ted?

I came into this thread and...
...dude, what was I just saying?

"...and then?"

I hate to think what kind of resin you'd want it cast in.
-
OooOoo! I need one of those! :)
-
I just found two of my (possibly) three 'Fen Beasts) from GW. I think they would make nice companions for this one... lol
