Title: Greek Gastraphetes (Bellybow/Xbow/Artillery)
Post by: BjörnF on 12 August 2015, 10:02:23 AM
Last spring I got some Late Macedonian arrow-slingers sculpted (Kestrophedrone), and now Menhir has sculpted a few more figures. This time it is Gastraphetes (belly bow). It was the earliest artillery in Europe and an early kind of Catapults. More information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastraphetes (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastraphetes)
The heads are separete.

Will they be produced? I hope so. I will start a Kickstarter campaign on the 1 of September and it is called "Makedonian Miniatures". The Kickstarter campaign will offer both the Gastraphetes and the Kestrophedrone. And maybe a third rare Macedonian troop type (clue: can be found in a DBA armylist).

Pretty cool...any hit for those of us who do not have DBA list? :)

When I saw these earlier I forgot to ask whether bare headed or hat wearing heads were an option - Syracuscans would be unlikely to have a helmet I suspect.

Great idea.

Commissar: It is someone's mother!

Mithridates: Right now there are 8 different head options, 5 of them bare headed or wearing sun hats. My idea is to include 2 random heads for each body, but if you take part of the Kickstarter Campaign just send me a mail and I will make sure that you will only get appropriate heads.
