Title: Guess what I found on my holiday...
Post by: Eric the Shed on 21 August 2015, 01:45:24 PM
Whilst travelling the states (namely Florida) I took the opportunity to search for some bits and bobs - I almost came away empty handed until I spotted this in a Pets Smart...for $40

It stands 15 inches tall - 12 inches wide and 18inches long - figure shown is 28mm

perfect for my pulp games - once it has been modified

cheers

I take it you went prepared with an empty suitcase, it must have taken up a lot of room?

Wrapped in dirty underwear no doubt...

I've see that piece before at Sinewgrab's place. Need to buy one myself.

Inflatable? This model is inflatable?

Please give more details: product name, manufacturer, etc.

A nice solid casting. The tube is for an aeration system for a fish tank. I've got one and it makes a great dominating piece of terrain.

I picked up this model from e-bay in Australia many months ago. Great piece of terrain. Sitting on my library shelf waiting for some further work.

We have a thread on items found in pound-stores, maybe we should have a thread for fish tank scenery as a LOT of people have bought them for gaming pieces and we are always impressed, that way we could have links to the pieces and photos of the end product?

It does look bloomin good and I imiagine it will be turned into something more spectacular too :D

Here's some pictures of the Hidalgo Fire Game we did using that model. Had to set It in Greece of course and made several other changes to game. Forgot the explosions but that didn't matter much.

The above is the overview. Instead of a tent we used the Limo in the upper right. You just had to get past the Oriental Chauffeur, who must have been a Kung-fu, Judo, and Karate expert given the number of times my people (and apes) got thrown out.

The Big Boss, yes that's a Gorilla with a Tommy Gun managed to get the Butler (the nurse in the proper scenario).

But had no luck getting the Professor (Lady Elaine). We ended with the Apes having three minor plot points while the (I need to find out what that gangs name is) had the Professor and one Minor plot point. Sorry about the lack of pictures.
