Like the look of the support weapon teams for RAR.
Any chance of getting the spare FN rifles on a spru instead of attached to the big pieces of metal?

All very nice figures Bill, I'm impressed.  :)

Where do you see yourself going next in terms of 'Bush Wars'? More insurgents? Portuguese? Angola/Mozambique Civil Wars? Congo?

I'm at the tipping point between 28mm and 20mm, tilt me over.  :D

Indeed. The quality of the miniatures seems to be(as i have never seen them in real life) very good to excellent. Would it be possible to produce the 20mm Vietnam range in 28mm? Thanks. ;-)

Love those East Germans.

Want and need them, even if I don't have any armor for the Cold War in this scale.

Note, on their website, there's an error in the pics, and the number 1 and 4 packs have the same pic.  I suspect the #1 pack shown here, is correct (not 100% sure about that, however).

So, who makes suitable Bundeswehr, US infantry, or British with SLRs to oppose them in this scale?

In case anyone is reading this, would love to see pack of prone infantrymen, and a machine gunner and assistant, as well, firing from the prone position.  I want a separate pack of prone riflemen firing/crawling (say 4 per set), so I don't have to use chits to denote that.

Some casualty figs would be useful too.

One of the Under Fire Rhodesian African Rifles packs has an excellent prone MAG (GPMG) gunner & a prone rifleman with an FN. Both would easily convert with head swaps to helmets, or file down the neck flap on the back of the soft caps to look like 'crap hats'. Bit of DPM & they would look the part.

Just remembered that the East Germans are 28mm, so the RAR wont work. Would still make good Brits for 20mm

I presume some MPLA and UNITA will come along with them?

Give me 3 months or so, a fair wind and no-one else having beaten me to the line, and we'll have something suitable out for the Brits.

UFM have indicated they are looking at doing Bundeswehr as their next 28mm range. Gripping Beast/ Mofo makes 1980s Brits in their Falklands range and for the late 1980s you could always use the Old Glory or TAG Brits with L85

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Mako especially. I hadn't noticed the photo duplication. That'll get sorted out tonight.

Regarding opposition for the 28mm East Germans: I'll be releasing 28mm Bundeswehr over the next three commissions I'll be putting through Tony B. First up will be a pack of four G3 armed infantry. Following on will be a light support, then a command pack. Also Empress have dibs on 28mm BAOR. They should be getting sculpted shortly but this is a guess on my part.

FAPLA, MPLA & UNITA will be done over time but to begin with I'm concentrating on South Africans & Cubans post 1982. Once they're done it'll be FAPLA & UNITA next. To begin with each faction will have two packs of four figures each with additions as appropriate.

All the above is in addition to a generic militia range for the U.K. I'll be doing, along with more modern police, riot troops & paramedics, so it'll be a couple've years before the range will be complete.

     Hope all this has helped.

     Regards,

     Bill Weston.

The Travelling Man: R4 armed South Africans to begin with, then R1 armed sculpts
                           later.

worrywort           : BAOR = British Army Of the Rhine. There will be a fourth pack of
West Germans, either a Milan team, or Berlin Police. Not decided
                          yet.

So
UnderFire - NVA and Bundeswehr
Empress - BAOR
Anybody managed to persuade Tony to do the Soviets?

Might be tempted to fill me boots, have the UFM NVA already, and they are very nice models, that Strichtarn is a nightmare to paint though  lol
at least I won't have to attempt Flecktarn for the Bundeswehr though. :D

Would like to see a couple of G3 armed packs, just to add variety to the Bundeswehr sections, and feel the Milan team might be more usable than the Berlin Coppers.

To be fair it'll probably be the Berlin Police first.

Hoping we'll see a chap with an M79 and an RPG for externals into Angola?

There are always the Eureka Soviet Motor Rifle troops for Afghanistan, they are in the KLMK camouflage suits and have the early Soviet body armour but neither was exclusive to Afghanistan. Very nice figures I have a platoon and bit'w worth myself. Some of Kosta's best work to date.

Have to see how those Eureka figures scale up to the UFM ones, they could prove useful. Shame about the G3 pack, might find a use for Berlin polizei.
Will have to do a bit of converting to get a mix of figures in the squads, will see what UFM come up with.
Now, busy digging up all the old plans I have stashed away, there is a need for some In-scale Marder 1A2, BTR 60, T-55 and maybe a Leopard 1. Already started on a 1/50th FV432

Good news on the SADF. What sort of kit are they going to have? Patt 70 webbing or patt 83 battle jackets?

Hi Ash. I'll be starting with the Cuito Cuanavale battle(s), the reason being that all the major factions (FAPLA, SADF, UNITA & Cubans) were there, bar SWAPO. The SADF will be up first and they'll be equipped with the pattern 83 combat vests.
