Hi, its been awhile since I've done any sci-fi projects. I'm looking for a good assortment of robot models, but have not found any that meet my requirements.
I don't want any that are a. GW figures; and b. Retro Atomicpunk or cute. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Bob

Mongoose Publishing have Judge Dredd robots.
Ramshackle Games has robots (part of their kickstarter - may not yet be publically available).
There are also loads of robots in the Corvus Belli range of Infinity.

I have a soft spot for these Oathsworn robots from a successful Kickstarter project.

Have not seen them on sale yet, however.

EM4 plastics (http://www.em4miniatures.com/acatalog/Science_Fiction.html)...
They're called 'Mechs' officially, but I've used one to good effect as an enforcer robot in a 28mm scifi project (and another one as a space ship to match Silent Death fighters).
Can't beat the price either; 5 of 'em for GBP 2,5!

Mantic have two Dreadball teams that are comprised of robots:
The Ro-Tek Brutes: (http://www.manticgames.com/mantic-shop/dreadball/teams/product/ro-tek-brutes-mechanite-team-10-figures.html)
And the Chromium Chargers (http://www.manticgames.com/mantic-shop/dreadball/teams/product/chromium-chargers-robot-team-12-figures.html):
Of these, the first team (the Ro-Tek Brutes) are a huge pile of mix-n-match parts, so that you can make lots of different configurations. The Chargers are more "human" in their form, but that may suit you better.
Two further comments on these:
(1) You can find them rather cheap if you shop around (lots of people offloading KS stuff for example)
(2) They are a hard PVC plastic rather than the usual hard Styrene plastic. This means that mould lines can be a tricky to remove neatly (possible, just a bit more work than usual), and that you will need superglue to stick 'em together.
Finally, note that Mantic's models are generally more 25mm than heroic 28mm scale.

Cheetor has painted up a number of robots for his SF non-combatants thread. See these entries in particular:

For military robots, have a look at GZG's Stargrunt "Remotes, Drones and Bots". They are 15mm, but I see no reason why they couldn't be used with 28mm:

although described as hard suits these could make interesting robots.

Good point, Mr Evil. I suppose a lot of powered armour and humanoid robot types are interchangeable. Hasslefree's Grymn might work well, because, since those are supposed to be space dwarfs inside the suits, their body shape isn't human-standard:

-
You could also give them all the gizmos to add to the robotic look, like the red one here:

These from Minibits might not pass the Atomicpunk test but could be useful ABC Warriors, robot cats and dogs as well!

While perhaps too recognizable when properly assembled, the Robotech RPG Tactics figures are all multi-part (way too many damn parts if I'm honest) but you'd have a large assortment of arms/legs/torsos and gubbins for use converting other stuff.
-
Copplestone does a pack of five 'Terminator Robots' (not based on the film of the same name). There is also a pack of 'Power Armour troopers' which could do as robots at a pinch.
Both packs are in their Future Wars range:

Awesome selection! You guys never disappoint! :D
I have a lot of links to look through tonight. There is so much I've never seen before, its proof I've been locked away in the Fantasy Adventures Forum for too long. lol
I'll check these out and let y'all know what I decide.
Thanks!

Coincidentally:
http://www.beastsofwar.com/batman-miniature-game/tabletop-skirmisher-riddler-preview/
In ref to Steve F's post about 15mm miniatures, I've picked up some stuff from Critical Mass Games (Protolene Ayame suits to be precise http://www.criticalmassgames.com/default.asp?category=protolenes) for robots and am thinking of doing the same with Hawk WarGames (particularly Scourge and PHR walkers http://www.hawkwargames.com/). The latter would have the added bonus of not being android types.

Don't order anything from there atm if you aren't prepared for endless frustrations.

Another coincidence:

Never heard of Hexy before today but they appear to be planning a laborer droid (board) game. Don't know about the ETA of that tho.

Ooh, great thread! Keep 'em coming please, I forgot all about those Spartan Automata.

Anvil Industry (http://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/) has some awesome ones from their recent Kickstarter. Not yet available in the store but coming soon IIRC.

For bits, may I also throw out the old Mechwarrior: Dark Age (I think) clicks game? Heaps of them probably cheap somewhere. While they're probably slightly bendy-plastic, the range was pretty extensive, might be a good idea simply for bits and pieces.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEJ-MechWarrior-Dark-Age-LOT-Agro-Mining-Mechs-Demon-Tanks-ConstructionMechs-/361371567266?hash=item54236c84a2
^Stuff like this perhaps? I see a heap of launchers, weapons, tools, maybe some cockpits you can separate etc. I don't know the full scale, I think they're maybe 15mm appropriate?
