As mentioned previously. I have no idea how to do snow. So here is Frostgrave after the thaw. The center of this 3 foot square section is Frostgrave is a large temple.

Of some weird and ancient architecture.

But also including some of the poorer quarters.

Here also can be found the tombs of kings. Surely a good place to loot.

Here are some pictures of a game I had with Lester bin Lester. Below is my wizard, Doctor Dee with - what this- a young Solomon Kane as a knight.

His piratical thugs advance with understandable trepidation.

Snow is an easy trick to cover up sins in terrain building. You need none of that! Great looking terrain, especially your grass!
-
Great set-up!
-
Beautiful looking table and nice use of those Tudor miniatures.
Agreed - who needs snow! :-*
-
Who makes the temple ?
and the various other stuff ?
Cheers

The temple is made from (a lot) of Pegasus Gothic Ruins. And nicely done too.
The 'poor quarters' are made from Warlord Ruins, originally intended for Bolt Action.
The statue near the King's Tomb is from GWs Lord of the Rings line and the tomb itself might be from the GW Balin's Tomb set, but I've never seen that tomb up close, so I'm not sure.
And before you ask; the grassy plains are made with painted/dyed teddy fur... ;)
Interestingly, I have gathered much the same buildings for my Frostgrave table! Mine will be snowed on though. heavily... :D

Fantastic terrain and miniatures? How did you get the the grass to look so realistic?
Thanks

Amazing work, I love the Pegasus stuff.
-
That is a great looking table, when I get making, my table will also be thawed!
-
Jaw dropping. :o
I'm new to all this and I had to start a new Amazon wish list with all these "leads". (got to me me some of those ruins)
Still waiting for the Frostgrave minis to hit Amazon in the US.

that terrain is great, almost looks like you're playing on a film set!

Thanks for the comments.
The Pegasus ruins are made up of one box of the "cathedral small set" and two boxed of the ruin. Cost about $100, not cheap, but bearable. My justification is that it will be used for Necromunda, and for breaking up line of sight in Bolt Action. Yeah!
The 'Lord of the Rings Terrain' is, in fact Balin's tomb. Well Spotted.
The grass is green teddy bear fur, glued to a linoleum tile and savaged with a pair of nail scissors. If ever you need to work up a blister, this is the quickest way. I bought the teddy bear fur in Sydney just before Mardi Gras, so no questions were asked.
I was hoping to stay away from the 'stuff scattered on the table' look I get when I base terrain. The idea is the grass/fur sort of binds everything together, to make a believable ruined city. It is also light, transportable and impossible to destroy. The linoleum comes in 1 foot squares, which also makes the table quick to set up.
I just saw the guy posting the white city terrain and I could weep with envy. :'(

WOW

Your idea with the fur really works very well! And I would have never thought that your grass started its life as teddy bear fur
:o

Looks amazing Mac!!!
I do like the fur mat you have :-* :-*
It was great meeting you at MOAB yesterday.
Cheers

Outstanding table! Looks like a diorama and the teddy fur works so well.
