Title: 15mm Landing craft crew
Post by: Poiter50 on 01 September 2015, 09:50:40 AM
My Google-fu (and memory) have failed. Does anyone know of any sources for Landing Craft crew? Either US or Brits? A friend is playing some Rapid Fire ans has some beach landings in mind.

A lot of landing craft on the American beaches at Normandy were crewed by RN crews.

For the British, Battlefront made some as part of their landing craft sets but AFAIK they never released them separately.

Personally I'd use some Peter Pig separate heads on appropriate figures (RN often wore navy Battledress), or just use artillery crew etc painted the same way.

The only 'British' figures in greatcoats that I can recall are the Eureka 'Bardia' Australians

For Americans, I'd be looking at USMC gun crew or similar. Eureka do have some US sailors but they're in fairly light rig.

For my own Indochina 'Dinassaut' crews I used a mixture of PP, Battlefront  and Eureka, modified with various heads etc, here cruelly enlarged!
