Title: A rather quick expansion of my town
Post by: Gunbird on 04 November 2008, 09:56:37 PM
Received 2 parcels today with a proper start/expansion of my town, of which these are the highlights.

All second hand HO scale buildings that will fit in with my 20mm kit quite well (the arrow points toward my landrover and fig for scale). About 30 in this box, plus a load of trees and other train stuff, and I expect another one tomorrow. I will sell off all of the normal day to day houses, and with some luck make my money back.

Not sure though if I'm going for the wartorn look ala Beirut (or Fallout) or keep em pristine (well, after stripping, washing to remove the 30 years of gunk and rebuilding). First one is winning out at the moment though.

I'll post em here again when I start cleaning and rebuilding :)

Wow they are great. Who makes then?

I was thinking about something similar for my AK47 games.

Cheers

Most are Faller, but almost all of these are at least 20-25 years old according to the previous owner. I don't even know if the big ones are still in production

Aye it is a shame.

Do you think they'd fit in with GZG 25mm's? Considering those are quite small.

Otherwise I am thinking of Battlefield Evolution 20mm though, or converting my post-apocalyptic game to 20mm...

Those are gonna look stonkingly good when they are done though mate.

Noh, they won't fit in with those 25mm I'm afraid, the Landrover is already as tall as 1 floor, the few GZG figs I have are even taller then that...not reccomended

Bet they'd look good with 15mm - so the AK47 theme might be a good option.... downtown Nairobi perhaps ?

Drat. A small error on my part. o_o

After careful measuring it turns out my seller sold me (mostly) N scale buildings instead of HO buildings.

Except the church and the left most building in the third picture, those are HO.

Bad? Not really. They still make excellent buildings for the edge of the table, which was the original plan anway. And the floorlevel is almost spot on for HO models. They will just be non accessible (again as planned). Bit like your average 3-D shooter really, not any different.

Just to let you know in case you went hunting for these kits and would happen to be perhaps unpleasantly surprised.

If I didn't think the shipping would be horrid I'd wanna take them off your hands. I need some big N scale buildings like that.
