My first real post here at Lead Adventures!
For my Frostgrave warband, I was planning on using the Skaven models I had gathered back in the days for Mordheim but never got around to using. But having just watched a Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, I couldn't stop thinking about Splinter while looking at the Marauder Minis Skaven wizard model. That got me on a strange track of thought that made me decide that I must have Ninja Were-Turtles led by a Were-Rat Wizard! lol
I figured that the turtles are going to count as a treasure hunter(sai's), a ranger(katana) and two trackers(staff/nunchucks) respectively. The wizard is going to be a Soothsayer and use his spells to buff his turtles to ninja levels ;)
Since I couldn't find any readily available figures for the Ninja Turtles, I decided to sculpt them myself :)
Here's my progress so far:

Currently sculpting their weapons; then it's onto elbow/knee pads, headbands and belts.

Great looking sculpts, always loved the heroes in a half shell.
-
Wow! You sculpted them? Brilliant stuff! :-* Do you normally just sculpt your own figs? Any chance of seeing any more?
-
Stunning !
Would be very nice to get a set.
-
I'd buy a set too, they're quality!
-
Fantastic sculpts.
Tony
-
I need these. Gimme gimme gimme
-
Indeed, great looking sculpts. If you find a way of getting them cast count me in for a set too.
Off topic but....did you ever get any further with the set of elf heads you were doing before?
-
Great, but the poor turtles will shiver in the cold wind of Frostgrave! ;)
Seriously: It's impressive, when you can form yourself the miniatures, you want! I look forward to see them painted!
-
Some people are just too talented............ Excellent ( and unusual) stuff!
Regards
PM
-
Wowzers you got some skillz o_o
-
Agreeing with everyone else, I need these in my life. Please cast and sell them.
-
While I have no interest in Frostgrave I do love those turtles!
-
Very cool indeed! Would love to get a set if you ever cast some up for sale.
-
Fantastic sculpts. Put me down for a set if they go commercial.
-
Searching Frostgrave for the ooze?
-
Put me in for wanting a set of those as well should they be cast up!
-
Thanks for all the kind and encouraging words!
When I manage to get them done and cast up, I'd be more than happy to share them with my fellow gamers here :)
Wow! You sculpted them? Brilliant stuff! :-* Do you normally just sculpt your own figs? Any chance of seeing any more?
Yep, I like sculpting my own figures when I can. I haven't sculpted anything in years though; but I'm hoping to get back into sculpting miniatures and posting my progress fairly regularly again.
You can see some of my past work on my blog here if you're interested:

Off topic but....did you ever get any further with the set of elf heads you were doing before?
Those were sculpted for practice. I didn't have any specific use for them. I might use them when I work on an elf figure sometime in the future. Always nice to have a few spare heads lying around :)
Great, but the poor turtles will shiver in the cold wind of Frostgrave! ;)
But theses are 'magical' Ice Turtles, sort of like the Ice Toads :D
-
very nice, lot of people in this forum are looking for them. put me down for a set.
-
A friend of mine might be interested too. So... just so you know. :)
-
In for a set too!
-
Tempted by Frostgrave but really more by the Turtles.
-
Put me down for a set as well :)

Gnarly!
Needs a van and a rat. I would like a set of them!

Progress report:
Got the weapon arms removed and made into separate parts in preparation for making the mold.
Removed the sculpts from the cork base and ready to be buried in clay next.
Got the first 2 sculpts set halfway in the clay to the parting line.
My pressure pot has a 9" diameter at the bottom, so I had to resize the green Lego base to fit. I can only get 2 sculpts in per mold at that size. I need to go buy more Legos to start working on the remaining 2 sculpts.
Speaking of pressure pots, I've been getting my pressure pot and compressor set up while I wait for my order of the mold making and casting materials to be delivered.

+1
:-*
-
Shit I am impressed. Best turtles I've seen y yet!
I would love to buy a set as well! !!
-
I think you would make a killing on selling these turtles for all the turtles fans out there.
Awesome sculpting! You are really talented!
-
Nice! Now you need Casey Jones and The Shredder!
-
Gorgeous result...I'd buy them too.
-
You can also expand to the triceratops and the other alien races. kingofspades is correct, you would be making a killing if you made these on the miniatures market.
-
No to mention April, Bebop and Rocksteady!
-
Thanks for all the encouraging words :)
If I manage to figure out how to get quality casts made for these turtles, I may consider working on some of the other mutant characters like Rocksteady and Bebop. But I'm having enough trouble getting theses guys cast up so we'll have to see.
Here's version1.0 of the mold and the result of my first casting under pressure:

Incredibly cool.

+1 on the whole "I'd love a set" thing. Really liking the proportions on these guys!
-
I think those casts turned out pretty well.
-
Brilliant! !!!
-
Amazing work! My grandson loves the turtles! I'd be very interested in a set if these were available.
-
Great sculpts, I would also buy a set in resin or metal if you were to sell any.
-
Great progress, congratulations on getting your first ones out of the mould!
Let me know when you get enough to sell, just as when you first showed the greens, I still want a set of these, have been wondering if you managed to master the moulding side of it yet.
-

You need to make Slash, Wingnut, and Mondo Gecko.

Yet another +1 for a set... Great work...

Got the mold done for remaining two turtles and got them cast under pressure.

I think I'm starting to get the hang of this. At least enough to make some usable figures for myself.
I'm afraid the quality of my casts aren't good enough to sell though :-[
But I managed to get a hold of Jacqualine, a very talented and skilled caster who did the casts of my female space marine sculpts in the past, so hopefully I can contract her to cast them up for me to share with those of you interested in a set 8)

Nice work on the models and starting out on the casting. You might want to check out www.resinaddict.com as there's a lot of really good articles that may help you out.
-
Great start, they're looking really solid so far. I'm envious of your sculpting skills!
-
I shipped out the sculpts of the turtles last evening to the caster. They are now on their merry way to be cast resin :)
It's going to be about 6-8 weeks before the resin casts are all done and in my hands; say end of January, beginning of February. I'll keep you all posted.
In the meanwhile, time for me to go back to practice my sculpting and hopefully some gaming during the Holidays(you know the original purpose for sculpting these guys in the first place, before I got sidetracked with trying to get them cast up) ;)
Cheers!

So...yeah. Bebop, Rocksteady, Krang and Shredder next? Please?!

Beautiful work. I am currently working on a Frostgrave band with a Foot Ninja theme, funnily enough.
I'm looking forward to seeing these figures painted.
I will add my voice to the clamouring hordes that would like to get a set of those figures if possible please.
-
:o Very Cool. Count me in for a set :D
Cheers,
Za
-
Count me for a set too, I love your work !
-
+1 for a set. :)
-
Add me to your list. I'd love to grab a set of the models...
-
Just a quick update: the greens are currently at the casters being molded. Hopefully I'll have the casts around mid-February.
Here's some wip pics of my next sculpts:

Not sure how I'm going to use them in my Frostgrave game though ;)
-
If possible at this point, +1 for a set.
-
Another +1 if available. I have two little boys that woudl love a few games with these guys.
-
I'd love a set of these as well if it's not too late.
They'd be ideal for using as Jacks in my Dreadball Teraton Team!
= )
-
@Space Corsair...I think you're becoming a hero to many. Keep sculpting and you'll have a small army of slavering fans awaiting your products in the mail.

This :D

This is probably the most faithful set (to the comics) that I've seen since the Dark Horse minis. Definitely interested if/when you make them available.
-
Yes! +1 for a set here as well :)
-
At the rate your Turtles are being requested ... you're gonna have to give up your day job! ;)
-
Not to be a party pooper... https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/180771/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-shadows-past
Have you all seen this yet?
-
Isn't there supposed to TMNT Heroclix coming out next month too?
You can never have enough ninja turtle minis, so I'm really looking forward to the board game as well ;)
One of the articles said it's going to have sculpted miniatures; has anyone seen what they actually look like?
I'm casting just enough sets to sell to folks here, so I'm not giving up my day job anytime soon :)
The folks here who has requested a set are on my list. I'll let you know when they are ready to go.
Speaking of day jobs, I just started a new job so I probably won't be sculpting much until I get settled in at the new company.
-

Indeed. That's what I like about your sculpts. The IDW ones and Heroclix could be the new stuff and not like the original Mirage Volume 1 comics.
-
They're scheduled for release in February,
http://icv2.com/articles/news/view/32451/tmnt-heroclix-product-details-announced
The models look a little 'flat' and lifeless, not dynamic like yours.
Good luck with the new job, and hope to see you back to sculpting soon.
C J =)
-
I'd maybe be interested in picking up a Shredder and some foot ninja. I painted up some SuperFigs to stand in because I can't sculpt worth beans, but if my turtles actually had some adversaries...games would be played!
-
Oh man. Rocksteady and Bebop. Im in love mate.
-
I missed these! I'd a love a set too if that's still possible!
-
Lovely sculpts, I'd like a set too if that's possible.
-
I resisted till now...I am also interested in a set.
-
I love TMNT so please let me know how much a set is plus shipping. THX.
-
Awesome! Definitly interested in a set!
Would love to see a Shredder, Foot soldier and Casey Jones!
-
IDW just launched their KS.
Digging Space's minis way better.
Skipping the KS.
-
gotta have a set as well!
-
I would like to pick up a set of these as well.
-
Quick update; my caster says they about ready to start casting next week. So hopefully by the end of the March.
Please see my blog if you are interested in more info:
http://battlesuits.blogspot.com/ (http://battlesuits.blogspot.com/)
I've been so busy with my new job I missed the board-game KS :'(
Just as well, since those miniatures don't quite represent the characters I fondly remember.
I'm definitely interested in the heroclix though: I love that fact they are representing the various versions from the different series.
-
Dont know if this had been posted about wizkids models
http://wizkids.com/heroclix/tmnt/
-
I've just seen this, I would be interested in a set of TMNTs, they look great!
-
Late to the party as usual. I'm also interested in a gang of these guys if they are still lurking around. I can see them in a few games of frostgrave,7TV and Pulp Alley.
Cheers.
Adrian
-
Erm. Put me down for some too. :D
-
Any news on these? :)
-
Seriously sorry for the really late response :(
The Miniatures has been cast and I've received them a couple months ago but it's just been sitting on my work table since then. I've just been too busy with work and family to do anything with them.
Anyhow, after realizing that many of you who have requested a set of minis are outside of the USA (where I reside), I looked into costs for international shipping. It turns out that it's ridiculously expensive to ship out an package internationally from here :o
For instance, shipping to the UK via USPS Priority Mail International Small Flat Rate Box costs USD$33.95
The cost of shipping is more than for the set of figures :-[
White Knight suggested getting a grouped EU order going to split the costs. But I really don't have the bandwidth currently to arrange anything myself. So let me know if anyone is willing to put one together for everyone.
Otherwise, I can only ship to those in the USA. If you are in the USA and have requested for a set here and is still interested, please contact me by PM.
Thanks for your patience and understanding!
-
$33,95 to send 4 miniatures by envelope? If so, damn, that's utterly insane!
-
I have this every time I send presents back home to Canada. I've stopped using Carriers like UPS and now just put stuff in a padded envelope which is a lot cheaper.
It also depends on where you are sending stuff, and what you tell them you are sending. A friend of mine in Norway wanted to order a Fat Mat gaming mat but the import taxes were something like £40. He had it delivered to my address (both myself and the manufacturer are in the UK), and I sent it to him as a 'gift'. It cost me less than 1/3 of the import tax, as presents are not taxed but imported games are. Same item, same size, same weight, same delivery company, different description.
-
Anyway, is anyone up for that? I would be, but it wouldn't be interesting that I'm the one centralising the group order as local (Belgian) mail is expensive as well.
-
I'm happy to do it for anyone in the UK, but better get in quick before we leave the Euro lol
-
I'm happy to doing it for anyone in the UK, but better get in quick before we leave the Euro lol
I think even if it is going to the EU it should be sent from the UK - you guys have the cheapest postage of all of EU by far.
-
As I said ... I'm happy to act as a 'go between' Just need to work out everyone's address's and postage.
They are some really unique figures so I'm happy to pay a little 'over the odds' for them.
Let me know if anyone wants to do this.
-
I'd be up for two sets. :)

Me too.
-
There'd probably more interest in other sub boards as well (superhero crowd), though I appreciate Azzabat might try to keep this manageable. :)
-
I think the best thing so as to avoid confusion is to let @Space Corsair know who wants what, and he can then decide if it's worth casting them up, for how much and then posting them off.
I'm happy to be a distribution point for the UK as it just means posting everything off in a small packet thru my local main post office.
Does that sound like a plan?
-
Are you able to be a distribution point in the EU dispite of the Brexit ?
-
Brexit won't take effect for another few years at least. It's just a referendum, but the Parliament still has to accept it and start the procedure.
-
Are you able to be a distribution point in the EU dispite of the Brexit ?
Should be, it depends where. Norway and Switzerland tend to be quite expensive but everywhere else should be ok
-
So these showed up today. Casts are very clean, detail is nice and crisp. They are great models. Excited to paint these up.

Based in the UK.

Those look great, would be interested in a set

Up for a European set too!
The Netherlands
Thanks for the initiative 8)

I would like to order a set as well!

Received my figures today and they are simply awesome. Going to get onto painting them straight away :D
-
Hi,
very impressed with those guys!
Any chance to get a set here in Germany?
-
So, what's the cost of the set without shipping?
Still kinda interested because the models are really awesome!
Oh and I'm residing in the Netherlands as well

I would like to order a set as well!

-
Those look fantastic. Well done!
-
I would also like to have one set.
Based in Germany.
How will we arrange it? Collect messages here until a certain date?
-
Hey Azzabat,
Thanks for stepping up to take care of the group buy there. You're awesome!
If we can get 20 orders, I can get our caster, Craig to cast up another batch at the end of this month. My caster is in the UK and he can send the order to your address for free.
I'm asking USD$28 for a set the 4 figures without shipping.
Timeshadow,
I'm afraid shipping to Canada is USD$24.95 :o
If you're in the USA,
The set is $28 plus $6.80 shipping via USPS Priority Mail. However I'm only sending them to those who have already posted here requesting them; I'm afraid I didn't cast enough for anything beyond that. Sorry about that :(
Cheers!
-
I'd like to be added to the European order if there are spaces left, please.
Cheers
Keith

My pleasure.
If it's ok, I'll leave it up to you to get the orders, miniature payment, and addresses from people, which you can then pass on to me (I'll email you my home address so you can then have them delivered here), and I'll post them out to the addresses you supply me with when the delivery arrives. That should be best to avoid confusion as there is just 1 point of contact.
All I ask in return is folks refund the actual postage.
How do you want payment? PayPal?
= )

Hi, I am in the UK and would like a set please. Happy to make a PayPal payment in advance if that would help?
I assume then, that the plan once everybody is ready is to make a $28 payment to Space Corsair and then a p&p payment to Azzabat. Is that right?
-
Is there any way you could set something up with Anne (the Dice bag lady) to get a bunch of sets so she could distribute?
-
Hey that's an excellent idea. She'll already have everything in place for bulk mailings, and if it puts a few pennies her way I'm all for that.
-
Great idea.
So where do we collect the addresses? Ive send Space Corsair a pm. Is that the way to go?

I would say get in touch with @Space Corsair directly, either by email or PM. They are his miniatures (and fantastic miniatures they are too!) after all, and he can decide the best way to proceed.
-
Hi all
I know I'm a noob around here (I signed up just for these figures if truth be told!), but I'd like a set of these too if poss. Happy to front up cash!
Cheers
Scott
-
Hello,
As usual, sorry for the late response; things are still hectic with work and family ;)
The current plan for this UK/European Group Buy is to get at least orders for 20 sets.
Then I get them cast up by my caster in the UK at the end of the month. It most likely won't be ready until the beginning of August. So please be patient.
Then he sends them to Azzabat to be shipped to individuals in the group buy.
I'll ask for payment by Paypal for the figures once the casts are ready to be shipped to Azzabat. You can send payment to Azabat for the shipping costs to your address then.
For now if you're interested in being part of this group buy, please send me your name and the number of sets you want by pm here. I'll contact you for your mailing address later, once I get enough minimum orders to get them cast.
Cheers!
-
I got some question about the 'scale' of the figures, so I took some quick pics to show their size.
I also took some size comparison pics with the Heroclix figures as well.

-
So I take it there are enough pre-orders to reach the order threshold then? :)
-
It seems to be only 19. if we are one person short, I ll take two sets....

I'm sorry guys, but count me out for the order.
Still like those models, but my gaming group changed to bolt action, so, all the money is going to be spend on tiny soldiers 😁
-
I went in for 2 sets, so if anyone else does the same, we're set.

I would like one set I am from Italy.
-
I update the list and took out Koers and added pierrebi.
We have enough for the minimum order with our caster. Now I just have to contact my caster and see when he can start casting them.
Cheers!
-
Cowabunga!!!
And please count me in for two sets!
-
Hello,
DivisMal, I have you down for 2 sets :D
The figures are already being cast and should be ready by end of week according to my caster.
I'm just waiting to confirm with Azzabat that he's still available to do this for us.
Thanks for your patience.
-
If Azzabat's unavailable I'm happy to do the shipping duties for Europeans. I'm also in the UK and I seem to be at the post office every other day at the moment anyway.
-
Great News!!!!
Im really looking forward to getting the minis!
-
Thanks for the offer ChaosChild, but Azzabat says he's still available and willing to help :)
So, for those of you on the list, please pm me your mailing address to confirm that you're still in.
Thanks!
-
PM sent.

PM sent!

Just checking in to make sure everything is ok. I've been quite busy with 'work' this last fortnight and paid the forum the attention I normally do.
-
A quick update:
Critical Mass Games, our caster for the group buy, is working on getting the last few sets cast up for the group buy. There were some casts that didn't meet their quality control and they decided to cast them over.
It should be done early this week. If you are on this group buy list and haven't sent me your mailing address yet, please do.
Azzabat,
I'll let you know as soon as they ship and get you the list of mailing addresses.
Thanks!
-
Can I still get in on this?
-
Can I still get in on this?
Better PM Space Corsair to find out. :)
-
Update!
Good news is that Azzabat says he has received the miniatures from Critical Mass Games! :)
Bad news is that Azzabat and I are both super busy with work, so it'll be the end of the week (or the week after) before they can be shipped out. :-[
I still need to get everyone's mailing address and request payment too. I'll be taking care of that as time allows during work.
Thanks!
-
Yep, a lovely big box arrived yesterday. I think I may have freaked the Postman out when I said "Ahh ... Must be the Turtles I'm expecting!"
So get all your details in to Space Corsair before the RSPCA whisk these lovely little fellas away. lol
-
How do folk want the miniatures shipped?
The most economical way is in a 10" x 7" padded "jiffy" bag (55p) as a Large Letter (£1.27 -£1.71) with an insured value of £20.
So roughly £2 to £2.50. I'm just going by the Royal Mails website at the moment (http://www.royalmail.com/business/system/files/RoyalMail_2016_Prices.pdf)
I've sent paperback books in these and they fall well within the Large Letter category so that should be no problem. I'll add some bubblewrap for extra protection as well.
The continent may be a little more but I'll check that out when we finish the shoot next weekend.

A quick update,
Azzabat has received the shipping address for those listed above.
He says the padded envelopes should arrive this week and then he will try to post everything out.
Azzabat will be contacting you about the shipping cost.
Cheers!
-
I've got everything I need now as the padded envelopes were waiting for me when I got home tonight. I'm working again tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday but I have Monday off so will be annoying everyone in the queue behind me at the Post Office the morning of the 12th.
Thanks for your patience.
-
I got my set of four today. They are really, really cool.
-
So any word about you speaking to Anne (the dice bag lady) about getting her some to sell. I would love a set but I am in Canada so the postage would be extreme.
-
Just found out about the TMNT minis, amazing. Sad that I missed the Eurobatch, if there is a second run, please let me know. Would love to have those minis.
-
Miniatures sent out in today's post, so you should all hopefully get them before the end of the week. Look out for a large white padded envelope about 10" x 8" with a black, handwritten address.
Once again thank you for your patience.
Azzabat. = )
-
So awesome!! Thanks guys!
-
Unless I'm mistaken, I haven't received a shipping quote yet?
-
It worked out at £1.50 for the UK, and just shy of £3.00 for Europe.
However as Space Corsair was kind enough to let me have my miniatures for free for organising the European distribution, I've decided to "pay this forward" and not ask for any shipping from anyone.
All I ask is that you do something good for someone else in return. Give blood, Buy the Big Issue, Donate a few coppers to a charity, anything you can afford. Just pay it forward yourselves.

Thanks very much! This is very kind of you given the amount of work you've put into getting the figures out to people!
Just got my minis and they are brilliant! :o :o :o
Now, how do I pay for them? :)
-
:o 8) :-*
Wow man, that is really generous, thanks a lot. I will make a donation to Alzheimer research this weekend :)
-
As the others said, you're a true gent if ever there was. 8)
-
Azzabat,
You are AWESOME! Thanks for making this into an uplifting experience for us *thumbs up*
-
Cowabunga dude!
You rock!
-
Received them yesterday and they are fantastic! Thank you Space Corsair and Azzabat for making it possible to get these awesome sculpts. You two rock.
-
Just got back from my holiday yesterday to find the TNMTs waiting for me! Really lovely miniatures, delighted with them. :-*
Space Corsair: I've made the PayPal payment as requested, many thanks for organising all this for those of us in Europe.
Azzabat: Thank you for organising the shipping and your generous gesture. I am a Mountain Rescue volunteer and each Mountain Rescue Team is a self-supporting charity so I'll put some money into my team's charity account (Registered Charity Number: 1106096).
North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team (http://www.ndsart.org.uk/)
Once again, many thanks to both of you. :)
-
Thank you all so much! Yesterday I got my models and they are awesome. Thank you Space Corsair for sharing them with us and thank you so much Azzabat for organising the postage and doing this even for free.
Just to let you know, my monies will (hopefully) help protecting Gorilla babies in Congo.
Many thanks for being allowed to "meet" such a nice bunch of people.
-
le Tartarughe Ninja arrived yesterday here ... ciao from Lake Bracciano
-
It's really heartwarming to hear how you are all 'paying it forward'. You guys are the real heroes. Respect to all concerned. = )
-
Just to update you my ribs have healed to a point where I can almost leave my apartment now, so I'll be posting out the remaining 2 Turtle sets on Monday to Canis and SpaceMunkie
-
I am so looking forward to getting good these. My thanks. I will definitely pay it forward as well.
-
Hi, are these still available?
Thanks, Matt
-
@Canis and @SpaceMunkie I've sent your miniatures off today. Sorry for the delay.
@TheShadow, I've sent you my set of miniatures today. I have to wait 15 working days (3rd October) to be classed as lost in the post. I've sent them recorded and signed for this time. Sorry your originals set didn't arrive. If they do, let me know and we'll work something out.
Just thought I'd mention to everyone that 1 of the miniatures (Leonardo) had a fair bit of
flash (thin resin around the mound join) on it. This was the same for everyone, so you were not the only one to get a mini that needs a little cleaning up.
-
Cheers @Azzabat, will wait for them to arrive
-
I've been somewhat remiss in not posting since I received the figures.
Lovely miniatures, excellent casting. Well chuffed!
Just need to get my arse in gear and finish painting them now :)

Hey Spacemunkie,
Thanks for posting the pics. It's awesome seeing what people do with the miniatures I sculpted :)
That looks like a great start; looking forward to seeing your finished painted minis.
Cheers!
-
Sorry I've been absent for a while. I mixture of work and IT issues.
Has everybody received their miniatures ok now? I've not heard that any are still outstanding.
-
I've received them. Thanks again for posting them.
-

-
Right, I'll get on this. Everything should have arrived by now. Sorry for the delay but thanks for letting me know.

I realise this post is quite old and please forgive me should this be the incorrect method to contact you guys. I was wondering if there was any way to get my hands on these beautiful figures? I live in the UK.
Would be great if you could point me in the right direction.
Cheers,
James
