Are they reliable? I put in an order for their 4 by 6 foot vinyl mats without noticing this caveat in their start page:
PLEASE NOTE WHEN ORDERING. YOUR ORDER MAY TAKE SEVERAL MONTHS TO RECEIVE. WE ARE CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING PRODUCTION PROBLEMS FOR 4X6FT., 4X4, 3X4, 3X3, AND 30X30IN. MATS. THE 2X4FT. AND SMALLER MATS, HOWEVER, ARE NOT BEHIND AT ALL AND SHIP OUT WITHIN A FEW DAYS.
That's a bit of an 'Eh...!'. What's your experience: they deliver eventually or should I cancel the purchase?

I only ever ordered some of the smaller mats and there they delivered as claimed. Product was worth the money also. They might have been more upfront with that warning when ordering I guess.

Zuzzy miniatures mats are great, but the customer services and communications are utter shit. I never once received a reply to any of my inquiries going on five months after placing an order for four 6x4 mats. I eventually had to submit a Better Business Bureau complaint, fearing my money was lost. I got a reply damn quick after that, and my product showed up within two weeks of that.
Use caution. If you can't afford to wait for MONTHS on end, or actually want your product in a somewhat timely fashion you might want to look elsewhere.

Thanks. Got a linky to the Better Business Bureau?
Also, who makes a similar product?

I've had good experiences with them both times I ordered

Glad to hear it.

My 2 6x4 mats took 9 months to get.No communication, even on his forum, which is pretty much just people asking/threatening for the product they paid for.
The mats are nice but I have heard people say its a problem getting the paint to not crack if you roll them up. I actually bought a third mat cheap from a guy who painted it and the paint cracked and flaked.
I used acrylics from the craft store on mine and the first time I rolled it up it cracked a little. So I never roll it up.Havnt used them for a travel game yet so not real sure how I'm going to get it there.

I used cheap Apple Barrel paint on another 2x3 mat that I have and roll it up every time I store it. I painted it using washes, dry brushing and stippling, no actual coats of paint. In a year of use, once or twice a month I've never had any issues with paint flaking off.

I have the other mat to paint yet, I'll try your techniques, Thanks.

Absolutely no response whatsoever from Zuzzy Miniatures. I have put a complaint at PayPal about the vendors non-delivery.

Hammers, this is a common complain about Zuzzi. So much so, they wrote an open letter about it here (http://zuzzy-wargame-miniatures.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/zuzzy-comes-clean-open-letter-to.html), and a further post here (http://zuzzy-wargame-miniatures.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/update-for-june-21st-2015.html).
So it looks like you probably will get your order at some point, but neither quick service nor communication are to be expected from them! :?

An open letter posted in June is no good to me. That is no show of progress and not adequate communication. For all I know they are not able to turn this around.

If they are selling mats like crazy why not hiring some extra help. Even only for a while to build up sufficient stock or work through backorders. Another option could be to stop accepting new offers and again fullfill backorders and build up some stock. Another option is if demand is really too high increase prices to cope with limited production capability.
