We had a great laugh last night with just my second game of Cold War Commander which i'm beginning to get the hang of albeit slowly! It's actually quite a good set of rules with the tactics of the various nations having their own variations that it is seemingly easy to utilise within the rules as they stand.
There's a full report of the nights action on my Just Add Water Blog:

Here's a couple of pics that will hopefully whet your appetite to see more!

Nice stuff Atheling. I am just basing some GHQ T72s for a (hopeful) game of Cold War Commander. Never played them but have played many games of Blitzkrieg and Future Wars and have really enjoyed them. The home page is at blitzkrieg-commander.com.

Nice stuff Atheling. I am just basing some GHQ T72s for a (hopeful) game of Cold War Commander. Never played them but have played many games of Blitzkrieg and Future Wars and have really enjoyed them.We played an Afghan scenario with the Russian and Afghan forces trying (in vain of course!) to deal with the Mujahideen- that was my baptism of fire as i was playing the Russians and Afghans who were extremely unwieldy to say the least ie pooh! lol
It got my juices flowing but as soon as i was to take on the role of a NATO commander and get to use dug in Challenger I's my juices were overflowing! Really enjoyed the game and will be attempting to keep the guys at the club playing regularly. It was all I could do to keep myself from buying some Challengers at whilst at the model shop (which I have to treat as a show is take a list!) :)
The home page is at blitzkrieg-commander.com.
Thanks for that John. I see that it's the Pendraken site (or is now). We've been playing it in 20mm on a 5 foot wide table but have access to much larger tables at the club. in fact the one we've been playing on is soon to be enlarged. I've been looking at the small AB miniatures range for BC which seems a likely move for me as I'm a little bit more familiar with WWII tactics. This coming from a predominantly Late Medieval painted/player.
I'll keep posting as we play :)
