The call him Rorschach...
He Sees the world in black and white...
The innocent - He terrifies!
The guilty - He terrorizes
...To Death!
What will the ink blot see in you?

A 1-1/2 hour quick job. Going to be used in a new Pulp campaign I am taking part in next year.
3 Browns, 2 Purples, Black and White and Black ink.
Copplestone 28mm, I will be basing him on a resin base of some sort, undecided which one as yet.

Cool paintjob and cool concept. I like the "stippled" effect of the highlights, is there a trick to that or do you just dab it on?
-
This is my number 1 favourite comic character of all time and You did a splendid job on him!
-
Wow! :o Absolutely great!
-
Welcome to the forum Dave. A superb piece of brushmanship - as always.
Pat
-
Sinister looking guy. :)
-
Gorgeous! What fig is he from?
-
Thanks for the kind words chaps. :)

Essentially yes. I just used quite thinned paint for the final highlight and stippled several layers onto the coat.

Copplestone Castings GN9 from the Gangsters range.

Really nice figure :-*. Welcome to the forum too! 8)

The same figure is in Pat's avatar too, I notice.
The stippling technique begs to be tried out. It seems to be particularly suited for painting old leather.
-
Splendid job! Alan Moore is one of my absolute fav comic writers.
-
Great idea and wonderful realisation : he's sinister as his character.
Now, we want to see Blake, Dr Manhattan, Ozymandias... ;)

Matt

Perfect. Simple and effective like all the best conversions. :)
Nice stripes on the pants too.
-
Really cool. I'm so gonna steal that idea. :)
-
Thanks for the positive comments guys. 8)
Now, we want to see Blake, Dr Manhattan, Ozymandias... ;)
I really have no idea what models I'd use for them... :'(
My sculpting/conversion skills are limited at best and the remaining characters are really quite unique... :?
-
Superb!
-
:o
-
Excellent. 8)

Amazing! :o I am so glad I got to see this! Well done, Jester!
-
It shows once again you don't need fancy conversions for something special. Well done.

Sorry, I totally miss you answer  . I just hoped you got the next characters.
To amend me, I made a bit of search to find right figs, but as you said, it's far from easy :
The major from Heresy could make a decent Comedian (with a pair of GW shoulder pads ::) )
http://www.heresyminiatures.com/hsf014.htm
And without her katana, maybe Suzy from Hasslefree could pass for Miss Jupiter (or any other Japanese school girl ?)
http://www.hasslefreeminiatures.co.uk/pack.php?pack=878
Then, the Nite Owl should be very hard to make without heavy conversion, Dr Manhattan maybe be found through super-heroes ranges (Heroclix ?) but I don't know them at all.
Idem for Ozy among the Ancient Wars range.
Any Help ? ( Frothers ;) ?)

Matt

There MUST be some superhero-minis that can be used with only a little conversion...?
Using bits/head swaps, and the likes?
I nearly fell off my chair whean I saw Rorschach - such a simple and striking conversion!! The Watchmen is one of my all-time favourite superhero-stories (I've got the 5 or 6 albums in the Danish translation, somewhere... hmmm...).

lol I can hear the sounds of another great wad of Kroner getting ready to fly out of your wallet towards Mr Copplestone's eager hands ;)

I actually HAVE that particular mini - but he is destined for another fate.... I may at some point in the future have a go, though...
