Title: AWI rules help
Post by: rumacara on 20 September 2015, 10:43:16 AM
Hello all

I´m searching for a set of rules that can accomodate the following:

- simple to learn and quick to game
- play with a force of 50 to 60 miniatures per side (for example 2 or 3 infantry regiments, a piece of artillery and something like 6 to 12 cavalry)
- type of basement like DBM/DBA with something like 3 figures per base.
- same set of rules easy to convert to other periods/conflicts.

I´m using 20mm figures.

Thanks for reading

Rui

(an example of basement i would like to use)

Hi Rui,

We have used these rules for many years, as have many others, with a lot of success - http://www.wfgamers.org.uk/resources/callan/lfas.htm (http://www.wfgamers.org.uk/resources/callan/lfas.htm)

Many thanks WFgamers.
I will certainly give a try on these.
I also plan to use them in the War of 1812.

rumacara - I haven't used them for 1812 but I think they should work.

LawnRanger - I believe that the British Grenadier rules were inspired by this set.

Although it will take some time before i can try them, on a first look i think they may be easy to convert to other periods/themes. :)

WF-Sorry did not see the date published 1987 thats like 5 years before BG came out ..wish i knew the rules where out then mind you i was not playing AWI then  :)

I think they would work well for War of 1812 as B.G works well might just at +1 for british line firing .. they look nice and fast set of rules no charts to look at ..

happy gaming lads LR.
