I am planning a miniatures project that is based on Metagaming's microgame Artifact:

I would like to get recommendations for 28mm US/Soviet astronaut miniatures?

Well, there have been a lot of different spacesuit designs.  I don't know who put this together, but it shows quite a variety:

Horrorclix did an iconic Soviet Cosmonaut, though the head and hands need some work!

Cooked Dice do some her (http://www.crooked-dice.co.uk/wp/product/arc-astronauts/)e. They have swappable heads too, so it makes it easier to get the style of head/helmet you want (on these, or to add to another figure).
