Title: Cavalry versus Gun hands
Post by: FifteensAway on September 26, 2015, 06:37:01 AM
Sorry, no cool photos of figures and not a scenario.  Just a mundane little question.  No question a game between gun hands belongs on the old west page.  But what about a regimental sized (or battalion) cavalry force arrayed against native Americans?  Does that still stay here or is there a more appropriate board?  I ask because some people don't think cavalry actions count as "Old West" gaming because they feature too large a force - at least at the scale I'm inquiring about.  A small patrol would be a natural fit here.

(For the record, I have one full regiment and three additional battalions to the equivalent of a second regiment - but only about a company painted and its going to get repainted.  Plenty of natives, in bunches and bunches but they're all still back at the village getting there war paint on!)

Post it here. Anything Old West related should stay in this board. Especially Cavalry vs Indians at any size and scale. :)

Hell I consider mountain men, Lewis and Clark style expaditons and the Mex-American war to be old west. So post away.
