Title: Franco-Prussian War Bavarian Flags Question
Post by: armchairgeneral on 26 September 2015, 10:55:27 AM
Although I can find information on the flags carried by the Bavarian infantry during the Franco- Prussian war, I note from the limited number of ranges I can find in 28mm, no one does a standard bearer so I wondered if they didn't actually take them into battle?

Thanks. No Foundry don't. I will do some sort of conversion then.

I converted the Foundry Bavarian Officer with the sword pointed forward and his face pointing rearward.  The sword was removed, the hilt of the sabre was filed down and I used a small drill to tap out this hand to accommodate a standard staff.  It has a nice charging action look to it.

Thanks. I was going to try that but from Juergen's post I tackled a rifleman and it seems to have worked out okay.
