Title: Thank you for SA 2nd edition!!!
Post by: Legionnaire on September 26, 2015, 11:08:44 PM
Since playing 1st edition earlier this year I have been looking forward with anticipation for the 2nd ed. Yesterday I bought the PDF and I have say all my expectations were realised and then some!!! Have only skimmed through it but so much goodies, so much to choose from both in terms of forces for both Threshold and Lurkers and so many scenarios.

Hopefully, will be able to start a campaign in three weeks.

I must agree.  I missed 1e completely.  But I am about to paint my (combo) "Sonic Resonator" / "Doomsday Device" as I just finished all of my graves (open, desacated and an unmarked).  This game is a blast and a few extra figs and it looks fantastic on the table.

While I've yet to play SA1 (got the SA1 pdf a few weeks ago and have since been painting minis and assembling scenery), I too got the pdf of SA2 yesterday and am impressed. Kudos to Uncle Mike's for this gem.

Having just played our first second edition games as a group, it's borderline overwhelming. The difference between 1st edition and 2nd edition is akin to D&D vs AD&D.

There are so many added on modules- so many sceneros and so many options for the lurkers that it will take years to exhaust all the gaming options and narative play.

It's enough gaming content to drive someone to madness...

I haven't had a chance to play a game since the rules were finalized for print, but I certainly enjoyed all of our test games. My personal preference is definitely to add in the twisted fate cards, they can make for some really exciting cinematic moments!
