My current effort at a warband for Frostgrave (less the wizard and apprentice).
These started out as Saga Jomsvikings, with exception of the crossbowman, which is a plastic FG figure:

Lots of GS mods, some headswaps, and additional bits / accessories added. A few touch ups still needed.
Back to front, left to right:
Thug, Thug
Treasure Hunter, Tracker
Archer, Crossbowman
Thug, Thief

and the critters/ creatures. still some major work to do on the ice troll, but the rest are very close to being done...
ice troll, wraiths, bear, snow leopard, imps, white gorillas, warhound, rats, wolves, boar
ice spiders

super cool

Great modelling and painting. thanks for sharing

Now that's interesting.. the Joms were one of the first models I checked out for Frostgrave (being well clad and nicely dark age), but in the end didn't follow up on as I was afraid their shields were molded on, making conversions to different types of warrior tricky. Turns out to be possible, and these certainly look the part!

Thanks guys...been fun to work on these.

Yes, the Joms do have a few cast on shields. I picked up a 4 point force, and there were enough figs without shield to handle what i needed. I did cut one shield off - it was fairly easy to do.

Cheers, good to know. :)

I like the feral and wild look of your warband. Can't wait to see them based. Nice job.

I always liked the Saga Jomsvikings (excepted when they complicated the live of my Frank's 8)) and they look marvelous as your warband in Frostgrave. Great painting!

Thanks all... Really happy with how they are turning out.
My challenge now is to find a Wiz and Apprentice that fit the style/theme I have going. Of the stock pairs that were part of the initial Nickstarter, the Thaumaturge probably fits best.
I'd really prefer something unique, customized, etc.

very well done :-*

Have you looked at Tre Manor's stuff at Red Box Games?
-
Not yet, but will do so.

Red Box may have some models that fit well with the theme, but I'm afraid the scale differences will be rather noticeable (GB being slightly on the bulkier side, while RB minis are very slim).
There are probably a few nice shamans of sorts in the more comparable historical ranges. From the top of my head, the guy in the middle here:

And at the right (perhaps as his apprentice - similar bag, robes, feathers):

Or Merlin himself(!):

Another Merlin: http://www.grippingbeast.co.uk/ABR01_Arthurian_Command_4--product--3112.html
Also quite like this blind seer figure:

That's a really nice selection of links, thanks.
I especially like the footsore figs. I don't have anything from their lines, may have to place an order.
(They have some other figs that would work for pulp and cthulhu.)

My first warband is completed along with a handful of critters. They were blooded in their first game this past weekend. None survived the game, but post-games results were not as severe as could have been - one dead and one sidelined for the following game.
