Enthused by all the recent El Cid action, I speed painted a unit of 21 Berber archers this week.
These are the first El Cid figures that I have painted in over two years.

Mostly they are the Miniature Design Studio range, sadly no longer the bargain they once were.

Very nice! I also enjoyed your battle reports greatly - inspires me in turn to go back to my own El Cid project & paint up some more figures...

This week another 21 joined the horde, I used a simple base-coat, wash, two or three highlights method using a reduced palette.

It's very effective Paul!! :-* :-*
I sometimes wish I wasn't so anal about my brush strokes as I'd be a lot more industrious!!

I always keep an eye on your blog as you know. Especially the WWI stuff (among many other projects) which I have to confess; mine have not seen even a dusting of undercoat as of yet!
