Thanks! The Constructs..? Different manufacturers. I can't remember where any of the ones that are mine came from for sure (the metal ones). The really big one might be Reaper...? (or Ral Partha...?) The little one I think was a D&D/WOTC Chainmail figure. The other large one... no idea... Pretty sure all came from the bargain bin at my FRiendly Local Game Sore at various different times... The Stone construct in Patrick's warband is a plastic Reaper Bones mini.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I'll have to look around.  It was fun reading your battle report.

I thought they might be those plastic D&D/WOTC minis, plastic prepainted jobs. You can get those pretty cheap.

No, they're all metal figures.

Your Batrep mentions experience points for level difference. Is that a houserule you are using, and if so can you explain it ?

Yes, it is a house rule we are using that was inspired by a rule in Mordhiem whereby if you are fighting a warband that is much more experienced than yours you earn more experience from the encounter (from being schooled by the best!).

Basically if a wizard is fighting against a wizard of a higher level, the lower level wizard earns 10 extra experience per difference in level at the start of the game.

For example a level zero wizard fighting against a level ten wizard gets 100 extra experience. A level six wizard fighting against that same level ten wizard only gets 40 extra points.

It's a playing field leveller - for people whose wizard has died, or they joined the campaign later, or they just don't play as much as others...

I like the idea but where is the cut off?  do you get an extra 10 xp for fighting a wizard one level higher than you? I'm not sure exactly when the difference in your wizards level becomes significant.

Yes we give 10xp for fighting a wizard one level higher. It's just a simple equation we use that gives progressive amounts of experience for fighting higher level wizards.

Where would one put a cut off? Five levels? Is fighting a wizard five levels higher significantly harder than fighting a wizard four levels higher? Hard enough that one fighting the wizard five levels higher should get a bonus 50 xp but fighting wizard four levels higher gets none?

Frostgrave's lack of such a mechanic was one of the only criticisms of the game I came across while watching reviews before I bought the game.

The 10XP per level difference seems a like a simple solution. I'm going to talk my gaming group into trying it.

Same here, this is one of the 3 most requested changes necessary to get player sign up to a campaign rather than just one off games in the club here. (Time limit and the d20 being the others).
Interestingly Frostgrave's arrival has led to a massive resurgence in interest in Mordheim here, all sorts of warbands being resurrected and brought out of retirement.
