Of course, how big is a giant?
Maybe i should use it for my 15mm collection!

Top work Robert!
Looks great in the 15mm collection and goes well with the Copplestone Northlanders. A real giant.
Danke fürs posten.

Well, he's a well painted brute!
-
Lovely job.
Yeah, I kept him as well and got shot of most of the others. Just too many!
-
Great job!
I hope they see their folly and start selling resin or metal recasts of the Kickstarter exclusive miniatures.
-
I like that 8)
cheers

-
Anxiously looking forward to seeing some of these in the flesh.
-
Nice pose and painting. :)
-
Nice work. Just got my confirmation of postage toda. The giant looks brilliant.
-
along with Fenrir the Wolf and the Troll he is my favourite...great paint job

That wouldn't make them exclusive anymore and also cut their sales during the KS drastically, because almost everybody will wait for the resin models ;).

I was up in the mountains on a mountain bike tour and unfortunately ran into a cranky frost giant who was not happy to see me.
I quickly took this photo before the b*****d smashed my bike and ran off with a 6 pack of my beer! (You should drink lots of liquid when you are exercising)

That's a great miniature, great painting and the terrain is also very fitting and looks good. I think it indeed looks better next to 15mm models :)

My least favorite big guy of the bunch, but you did a good, menacing job on him. Especially the rock, impossible to get it more realistic than yours. What colors did you use?
-
Really beautiful... if that makes sense.
-
Wonderfully done.
-
Great painting, Rob!
-
Ohhh realy nice. Keep them coming. :D
-
Thanks again everyone!

All the rock in the picture is painted the same and its fairly easy.
I use for all my terrain cheap D.I.Y. store colour toner paint. You know the stuff you mix with white house interior paint to make your own colours
(https://farm1.staticflickr.com/725/22251538971_eee0b683c6.jpg) (https://flic.kr/p/zUhXiD)
This is the stuff from a german store.
I mix brown, black and white to make a grey/brown colour and paint the whole rock. Then i add some white and do a heavy dry brush coat. With some more white mixed in i do another dry brush coat but this time more lightly.
To get the granite look right i looked at a lot of pictures of dartmoor granite "Tors" (outcrops) and realised they are full of spots, sort of sprinkled.
To do this effect i used very watered down white and black paint. I dipped an old brush in the wash and "flicked" the tip of the brush with my finger at the rock. Test on newspaper first, the first "flick" is usually too heavy. (word of warning - do it in a box or something similar, It flies much further than you expect. I mean it flies across the table, over the floor and onto the fridge :( )
You can see the effect best on the second frost giant picture on the rock on the left.

Really nice brushwork on both of those big lads.
The Frost giant really works for me.
:-*
As for the yips on the rocks, that is spot on too.
For that type of rock it nails it completely.
Great tip!

Thank you Steam Flunky,
mine always look a bit too grey and too "flat/clean" at the end stage, that's why I was wondering about your tricks for the natural effect. :)
-
What a lovely paintwork, Rob, and amazing photography! Great show :-*

Next one done - The Mystic Troll.
It was this miniature that convinced me to pledge the kickstarter. I am happy with the result but to tell the truth i prefer the giants and the other troll more now (the other troll is nearly finish - will post soon).

Fantastic!
-
Very lovely, err, in a sense ... :D
-
Awesome figures and amazing paintwork. Damn, I'll have to get the miniatures one day.
-
My favourite of the monster figures in the box...wonderful stuff.
-
Very nice. The shades and colours on the backpack is really pleasing to the eye.
-
The Big Guys of Varying Skin Coloration are all BEAUTIFULLY painted & base with an OUTSTANDING color selection...I've got to admit the Troll is my favorite. What really make the minis for moi is the FANTASTIC terrain you used as settings. VERY WELL DONE!

Thanks. What i really need is some decent trees for 28mm. The ones i use in these pics are the cheap "toilet brush" type of tree and only good for the background!

I was was hoping to get a few of these Blood Rage miniatures finished quite quickly, then i would not have a guilty conscience when i bought new stuff at the Crisis convention in Antwerp.
This is the 4th of the big guys finished. For my painting speed that counts as good enough, so i am packing my bag this very moment and its YEEEEEEHHHH!!!......OFF TO CRISIS!!!!!! :D
Looking forward to seeing some of you there! I am with the THS group on table g3a01 near the main entrance on the left when you come in. We are presenting a Plancenoit 1815 game. There are some pictures here on Admiral Benbows WIP thread. He built some of the beautiful buildings:- http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=82061.45

Brilliant. So much character in that model.
-
Ohhh I love him :-*
-
What a lovely scene :-*
-
Love it! Particularly the brooding sky behind. I think I'll take a crack at my Blood Rage stuff here in a few days. Brilliant work.
-
Thanks everyone.

I painted the sky a few weeks ago. As long as it is out of focus it works well.
-
Wonderful painting and staging the scene, Rob! Impressive! :-*
-
The Big Guy & the scene as a whole are WONDROUS to behold. BEAUTIFULLY WELL DONE!
Have FUN at Crisis!
-
Hi Rob,
every time you bring me back to do "something" in Fantasy with your fantastic work! ;) :D
cheers
-
Really nice great work. These are in my to do pile... somewhere in that pile....
-
These trolls are really nice minis - your great brush work makes them even more so. I too like your brooding sky painting and the ruins (from where do they come?).
-
Brilliant work on these.
