Title: Looking for this type of hat
Post by: commissarmoody on 23 October 2015, 12:58:40 PM
Ok, I am trying to find the hat that these guys are wearing. Close enough will work for me and separate heads are also a good options. Want to keep the hat for officers and police forces into the modern era.

Some of the Brigade WW1 Belgians wear something similar

You might get away with WWI German Jager heads... they might even have the moustaches to go with it.

I just might, now to see if there are any ranges with separate heads that are not to out of wack. If that fails, it's head transplant time!

Try Brigade games WWII Austrian infantry.
I think they will be the best option. Just wish they had the separate heads I am looking for, My Imagi-nations military still sports that's style of cap and mustache because of "tradition". Into the modern era. I guess I could chop off some heads. try to make a press mold and then reattach them  lol

Rather than decapitation and press-moulding, why not write to the sculptor and ask if he might bring out heads for conversions?

Or write to someone who already does heads - such as Crooked Dice, they post on here and already have some kepis (but not like these and without mustache) - and suggest it to them?

Also a great idea. I already have a bunch of woodbine design headless tummies who I will just give shoulder caps to be my Zubrowka. They don't have to be exactly like the film just close enough. But the Austrian or Jager style caps are their most noticeable feature.

I actually have two platoons of them, one already is kited out in Stahlhelm for to be Irish Troops in the 1930s.

What film?

The Grand Budapest Hotel - probably one of Wes Anderson's finest films.

Thanks for the link, I have kind of gone off the deep end and just made up my own setting with Zubrowka and the Movies setting as the starting point. Have kind of been adding ideas as they pop into my head onto my blog. But its going to be where my lace wars army, pike and shot guys, interwar craziness, and post World War 2, fall of the colonies, and cold war gone hot forces will be from.
