Finally finished up these Crusader Woodland Indians. I had the worst time painting them. Seriously distracted from painting by computer games and Netflix. Except for the comically over sized tomahawks these are great minis. Lots of great poses.

Great brushwork, you've done well with them. :-*
I don't think he has captured the woodlands Indian look at all with the sculpting. Apart from the silly tomahawks, the muskets look wrong and the hair roaches just don't look right to me.

Lovely painting!
Those are some oddly sculpted tomahawks, I agree. The hafts in particular look very thick. Perhaps a darker colour on the hafts might have downplayed them a little? Not that I really know what I'm talking about, mind :)

You've done a great job on those.

Maybe a finer hair roach is too difficult to cast in metal ?

Maybe I should of tried a darker color. But the haft of the tomahawks are maybe twice as large as the barrels of the muskets. Couldn't really hide it.

Excellent brushwork 8) :-* 8)
The tomahawk handles are too thick - I replaced mine with steel shafts and reworked Gripping Beast axe heads or just changed the weapon conpletely to a knife or spear.
Other than that they are nicely sculpted figures that make them enjoyable to paint.

Lovely painting :-*

These are not Crusader Minis, but might show how thin a tomahawk handle is: (28mm)
