Hi Chaps,
Just by chance I read about some Taliban figures from a company called Ultima Ratio on the Plastic Soldier Review website. I found a box on ebay and have been pleasantly surprised at how they scrub up. Despite a google search I cannot find any further information....apparently they also produce some mechanised Russian Infantry which I would really like to use as a starting point for an Eastern Bloc type of army.
Has anyone used these figures or know anything about the company? thanks in advance for any info and here is how they look painted...

Sorry about the link I have not figured out how to post a picture on here yet...

Wow the really are a new unknown company!

You did a nice job on those - I saw them on Plastic soldier review too but havent heard anything about them at all.

These are really good 20mm sculpts, and very well painted !
The sculpting style make them very compatible with metal ranges ! thank you to let us know about this range !
edit : I believe I found some pics of the russians :

Looks really good if you ask me. Their WW2 1/72 are great too.

Thanks for the responses Chaps! Also the link...the Russians look so much better than the Afghans! I will be able to post a comparison to the Britannia metal Taliban figures next week....no Russians for sale in the UK yet though!

The afghans looks pretty cool (especially painted like yours) in my opinion. Especially when you think you will need plenty of them for any modern assymetric game. Just add a few MG specialists from metal manufacturers and you're good. ;)

The quality of the plastic and more thought going into the design of miniatures makes plastics useful for building up your everyday figures but like you say specialists still have to be sourced elswhere.

Those look pretty awesome.
