I live in Gloucestershire, England....and if you are ever in my neck of the woods and would like to drop in for a game I will make you most welcome. :D
-
Amazing Harry. A true inspiration.
-
Blimey, that's amazing.
I was thinking of buying some snow and sprinkling over my table for xmas. Think I'll give it a go, now.

Seduces me to make my way to the frozen city as well... ;)

Thanks very much fellas for all the wonderful positive feedback. I was only doing it for my own enjoyemnt but it is great putting stuff on here and getting such great feedback and a sense that other people have enjoyed it too.
For those of you who have posted to say you only live in Bristol or Herefordshire or indeed for anyone else who hasn't posted but fancied a game on this table.... I really am happy to get a game in sometime .... always nice to share your enthusism with other like minded fellas ... bit busy leading up to Christams with family stuff .... but drop me a PM and I am sure we can work something out in the new year.
-
If I am down your way I'll be sure to drop in and say hello... :D
-
Looks great.
And so cooold. :-*

I remember that you stated that the first bottle brush trees you purchased were from ebay/China, but how about the darker frosted trees? I like those trees better; what brand are they?
-
Wow that is really impressive though I think I'm suffering from snow blindness now :D
Whereabouts in Gloucestershire do you live, I'm not too far away in Somerset.
-
Wow and a hundred time, wow....and not that far from Devizes.... :D
Makes me feel guilty at planning to play this game "unfrosted".
Doug
-
Really very nicely done
Hmm - I wonder home many of us will be playing Frostgrave using our wive's Christmas Village setups? Nowhere near as good as your table but a quick solution to scenery!
-
Thanks fellas for the great feedback.
@Black Burt ... I live near Dursley half way between Gloucetser and Bristol.

Honestly ... can't remember. I bought those years ago ... a big bag in a SALE bin in a model railway shop. I snowed them up myself ... bit of white paint and dunked in scatter powder.

Regarding the hills, what sort of Styrofoam do you use? The "hard" porous type (I usually see these at craft stores and they tend to be green), or the white type that is often used in packaging? If I want to glue plastic to the Styrofoam, what sort of glue is best?

The hard stuff is better if you can find it (more robust for regular use) but all of my stuff is just cheap white polystyrene used in packaging .... pulled from a skip! I have stucc it to 3mm mDF to make it more durable. I use whatever PVA (wood glue) I can find going cheap ...for about 90% of all scenery projects.

Would PVA glue hold, say, a Renedra plastic tent to the Styrofoam?
Regarding the MDF bases, were they custom made into kidney shapes? I searched for some that would be suitable for terrain, but haven't found anything suitable.

I would PVA the sand to the strofoam and then the plastic tent to the sand when dry .... but yes PVA will stick the plastic tent to the styrofoam.
I have done it both ways ... stuck Polystyrene to mdf then cut both together as one piece on a bandsaw. AND started from some random kidney shapes (A mate cut some out for me on a laser cutter) and then stuck chunks of polystyrene to them and when stuck I cut them to the same shape as the mdf base and have at them with some sandpaper.
