Hi all,
I can't help myself any longer. All these Rogue Trader threads make it impossible for me not to take a trip down memory lane. Here are a couple of pics of my ongoing efforts, there are some more on my blog.

Special credit if you can identify the head used in this conversion?

Love the graphic painting style and conversions. I don't recognise the bearded head, although it looks a bit like Donald Sutherland ;)
-
I was going to say the Mordheim sprue...but I too recognize it. I've looked at too many plastic sprues recently to pick it out though.

great job !
i love the Yellow armors , good skills

Thanks for looking and your kind comments.
The head can be found here:

It was the statue head from the Salute 2013 plastic figure.

Yeah, he's shaking his fist and shouting something about 'pesky green skinned varmints".

I'm not sure if you're aware, but Angry Marines are an actual parody chapter, using that colour scheme: https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Angry_Marines

Really nice Imperial Fists there - and no, we never get tired of nicely-painted RT figs here on LAF! 8)
I have a soft sprot for the Angry Marines too... They may be parody/jokey chapter from 4chan, but I actually think they captured a lot of the RT silliness quite well! (Er, apart from the missile launchers that launch Angry Marines. Ahem).

I think that a lot of the more recent versions of 40k marines have lost that touch of humour that made RT so enjoyable. The rules regarding squads and troop types seem unnecessarily rigid. I guess that's a consequence of larger armies in later versions.
I've started on a conversion for a marine captain, some pics below and more to see and read on the blog:

All the bits

pinned and glued

A Victrix head for a bit of character. I think my marines will definitely be talking with British accents, 'old bean'.
