In addition to the 6mm stuff I posted last week I have also been playing around with a 28mm Crusader force for Sharpe Practice. I put pictures of the first 24 (of an eventual 76) plus a couple of close ups in my gallery. The color is a bit washed out I think. I need to work on getting more lighting. The plan is to expand each 4-man company to 12 with four seperate command to use as my main French force for SP.

I also finally started a 40mm project for a friend of mine. He gave me a mix of Perry and Sash and Saber figures to paint for him about a year ago (where is that embarassed emoticon!). I just got around to painting a test figure for him which is also displayed in slightly washed-out and unbased form.

Any comments and/or criticism are welcome as I have loads more to do! On top of these three projects I also picked up the complete run of Eureka 28mm Wars of the French Revolution at Fall In!

I've been away for work for a month so haven't been checking in here recently. But I'm a sucker for anything in 40mm... Nice work, really crisp colours. More please!

Thanks. I am very happy with how the actual 40mm figure turned out, but the photo itself needs work! I have the other six Perry voltigeurs started and five Sash and Saber ones primed. I'll be sure to put up some (hopefully better) photos soon.

I am raising forces for Sharp Practice as well - I like the look of the Crusader figures and they seem reasonably priced - do you have any Napoleonics from other firms that you could compare them with size wise.

Well for perfect compatibility Mark Sims did some of the sculpting for Offensive Miniatures' new range: http://www.offensiveminiatures.com/ (http://www.offensiveminiatures.com/).
I am fairly easy-going when it comes to mixing minis. bearing that in mind, I think they mix well with Front Rank. I think they may be a tad larger than Foundry, and old Old Glory. They are probably too large to go with Perry, Sash and Saber, and the new Old Glory "second edition" stuff, but I haven't done a side-by-side comparison. They are definitely too big to go with the Alban minis!

Thanks - useful info.

Lovely work and thanks for sharing. Always love anything Napoleonic and to do with Peninuslar.
I was looking at the Alban miniatures for a possible project in the years to come, "God Willing."

I got a few more voltigeurs done. Five more to go and then it is on the the rifles. these are a mix of perry and Sash and Saber. Truly enjoyable to paint! In fact I am enjoying it so much I may get some sets of my own to play Song of Drums and Shakos with when I finish these for my friend!
