Brilliant!!!!!

Yeah, they look alright.. ;)

Just replied to your post over on the Steve Dean forums Darrell.
I was worried these figures may just have separate head gear rather than separate heads but looking at the images it seems it may be the latter. Much prefer having separate heads, makes it so much easier to give units a little more character.

Yep, I think I remember reading on their Facebook page that blanket rolls could be added. I'm not sure what else will be separate but my money is definitely on the water bottles (among other items)! :)

I really did not want to get into Colonials. The plastic Ansar look good but it wasn't enough to pull me in. Now I have seen these new greens. :-* They are just too delicious to pass up.
-
They do look awesome. Thanks for posting, Darrell! I hope there will be some command figures.
-
Stupendously spiffing. Irresistible. So I will not.

MG
I think that's a given that there will be a choice of commands (in plastic and metal). There might also be an expansive range of metals to go with it as is normally the trend with all things Perry.
I'm going to use the Perry stuff for regimental games... thus, I have to find a faster painting method that I'm happy with! Ho hum..... :)

The text on the Facebook page states "The command frame models are currently being worked on and include the dog 'Bobby' of the 66th who survived the Battle of Maiwand..." which sounds interesting. :)

Finally, a Perry plastic dog ;)
-
Whoa... "Bobby"?!?!?!
Thanks, RedRowan, you just helped me decide what to do re: raising a more historically accurate version of the 66th (Berkshires) Regt. for future games on my Maiwand boards. After seeing these pics I wasn't sure if I would go ahead and use the Artizan Second Afghan War British Infantry or wait and use these new Perry versions, but learning there will be command AND the indomitable little Bobby... now I know what to do.

IS there any reference to Afghans being in the pipeline? A plastic box set per chance?
-
Is that a mould line down the side of the chap in Glengarry? ;D ;D ;D

I agree, these greens look very nice,as to Malamute's query about native opposition it would be an obvious choice to release, especially with T mwb K rules appearing next summer but I guess we will have to wait and see.The varied choice in headgear being offered with this set makes me wonder what options will be included in the second British set aimed at the Zulu War period, home service style and rifles as well as the campaign version ? ☺

Nothing has been said yet but I think a lot of us are keeping our fingers crossed! :)

I have not spoken to Michael nor Alan about the releases of the plastics and what metals will back them up but it would be logical for us to eventually see some plastic Afghan Tribesmen, after all we do already have Ansari and possibly metal Brits and Afghan regulars.
As for Zulu's I just can't see it as Warlord/Empress do them. I have read that there will be Brits suitable for the Zulu war from the Perry's. I don't know if they will be in the same box.
At least that's my dream!

The Zulu War Brits are the second colonial British box set that they have planned from what I seem to recall from previous discussions on this and other forums. Normally I would agree about them not doing something Warlord has already done but I guess if the twins fancy playing a Zulu game they'll make them anyway! :)
If not, what other conflicts would Zulu period British be useful for? Not really my period but I am guessing if Michael thinks it is worth the cost of producing them they must have something in mind.
