Okay a bit of explination. I'm an Air Traffic Controller in the USAF. Management wants us to set up a more realistic static simulator for training. I figured this would be a good opportunity to use my wargaming skills to put something cool together.
What I'd like from you all are sources for aircraft and flight stands. Mostly military but some civilian as well. Not sure yet on scale requirements so send any.
Right now i for sure need the fallowing:
B-2 spirit bomber
T38 trainer
A-10
AH-64 apache
HH-60 blackhawk

The last 3 are available in 1/285 from GHQ along with flightstands.
You can get all but the T38 in 1/144.

I think you can get most of them in diecast, probably around 1:72 but maybe not all correctly scaled. I think going that route will get you bigger models than GHQ type stuff, and when you have a training audience that can be useful. At one point we had 1:35ish scale wood M1s and Bradleys we used for 'rehearsals' before missions. Smaller ones would have really detracted from the purpose of doing it.

Yep, pretty sure all except maybe the Talon are available as 1/72 scale die casts and some are probably available as 1/100/ 1/144 scale die casts too. The Amercom cheapies or ex Fabri magazine giveaways are better value for money for what you are doing.
Most of those should be available as 1/144 plastic scale kits if you are so inclined. Revell do the B-2, the A-10 and the Apache:

Dragon do various models of the Blackhawk. There's an obscure Japanese resin manufacturer of the T-38 Talon available through Hobby Link Japan. It looks like an easy build:

In 1/285 or 1/300 the A-10 is available from a variety of manufacturers, like Heroics and Ros, Davco (IIRC) and GHQ as are the Apache and Blackhawk. The other two you would probably have to look at resin through the likes of Shapeways, although if an F-5 would suffice for the Talon then those are available in metal from the above manufacturers.

:) I used to carry the old Airfix 1/32 soft plastic British Infantry in my pack for orders groups. Marked the helmets in different colours to represent different teams within the section and felt tipped pen to mark out the team numbers. Bloke I knew, who was a tankie in Vietnam told me he had a troop's worth of Airfix Centurions he used in a similar manner.

Maisto Tailwinds or Matchbox have most/all of the above diecast. Unfortunately you can,t order them individually, you just have to look for the ones you want in stores like Walmart. You might save time buying them on eBay.
They come with not-very-sturdy plastic bases. Gluing them to a piece of wood, which can be attached to a bolt or nail which can be attached to a wooden disk works well.

I'd suggest (for the smaller stuff) the Easy Model line of plastic pre-painted kits, probably 1/72-ish.
You can find them at various retailers, some on Amazon etc. Comes pre-assembled/painted and look good for a very reasonable cost.

I suppose it depends on how much space you have available and how large your budget is but a 1/72 B-2 is going to be a honking big kit.
