He's a Mongolesque Khan/warlord from an old comic called 'Way of the Rat'. I'd like something similar for my 'northern barbarians' otherwise known as Mongolesque ;)

I always wanted to read Way of the Rat. Crossgen folding was a shame - I liked a fair bit of their stuff (Ruse, especially).

As for the model, how about starting with Hasslefree's White Tiger?

Pose and costume are close already, and the fist would easily accommodate a polearm. A moustache could easily be added, but I'm less sure about the hair... Headswap for a Fireforge Mongol?

Other possibilities...

Reaper's Pathfinder monk, Sajan? Available in Bones as well as metal.

Reaper again, another couple of monks:

The one with the 3-section staff has a long braid, while the chain-wielder has some heads tied to his belt by the hair. Both might require a fair bit of work to remove the existing weapons.

Or just push for a model of Tong Po from the new Kickboxer reboot:

A head swap on White Tiger could work very well, cheers. Do you how he sizes with the Fireforge Mongols?

You're welcome to borrow my set Phil, although you have to bear in mind it doesn't end :(

Off the top of my head, no, but I have both White Tiger and Fireforge Mongols (albeit I might only have a single head left) at home so, if I can find them, I'll take a snap tomorrow.

Thanks for the offer, Dean, but after thinking about it yesterday, I picked up the run! Turns out volume 2 trade is very hard to find, so I've relied on a random combination of trades and individual issues.

These probably aren't as suitable as the figures that have already been suggested, but Battleline Miniatures in New Zealand has a pair of Mongols that come part of the way:

They don't have the hair, though. (I have the figures so I know.)

Here you go - best I could do...

My observations - the Mongol head is a little more exaggerated than the White Tiger head (as you'd expect), but it's not a bad match size-wise, given how bulky White Tiger's body is. I also included a (poor) shot of one of the Mantic zombie heads (or ghouls - I forget which), as it was to hand, and it occurred to me that there's a good range of bald heads on that sprue too...

Looks like we probably have a winner, thanks Phil.

Appreciate everyone's input guys, thanks.

Lowtardog, do you remember which faction?
