Title: More Fallout Miniatures
Post by: Legiocustodes on 26 November 2015, 08:22:44 AM
Hello All;

I've just been play Fallout 4 and it is amazing inspiration. As such I realise we need more Fallout models and there is only one man for the job...Brother Vinni

As such I have been applying pressure by asking him to do the following

T51b power armor
T60 power armor
More variations on T45d and Enclave Power armour

Please can you all join me in this by contacting him on

http://www.brother-vinni.com/contacts.htm (http://www.brother-vinni.com/contacts.htm)

If he realises enough of us want it then he'll probably do some more stuff. Come on guys... You know you want it!!

The variations of the Existing Powerarmour Miniatures are the job of each one for its own imo. They are from Resin.... In the past days We all have sawed Metalminis in Pieces to reajust positions. Here its done with a X-Acto Knife.

If you want a T60 (I want one on my own) The existing Miniatures are fitting well too. Mainparts to Change are the Shoulderarmours. Quickly done with Greenstuff.
If you want a Really look alike T60 Armour go on Thingiverse and look for it. Theres a 3D file for the Inner Suit and the Armour itself. Rescale it on 34mm to have a bulkier look and let it print on Shapeways in Frosted High detail Resin.

I like both of these idea's.

Did Vinni not do all those models as commission pieces? He's not been doing Fallout miniatures recently, presumably due to having moved to Europe and copyright concerns. His recent ones aren't the direct copies that his earlier ones are, so I doubt he'll be making exact knock-offs any more.

As Deltadog said, the raw mesh files are available from the game now. You can hook them up with a local 3D printer and have those produced, though I personally can't speak for what the results would be like.

...Personally I'm more up for just sculpting this sort of thing myself. Pity then that I have no idea how to cast anything. :/

My mate was actually the one who commissioned the enclave armours originally as a present for me.

He spoke to vinni again recently and was told he would consider doing T51b with gauss rifles if there was sufficient demand!! So it's all in play!!

So get on thise keyboards and message the man!

Vinni promised alternative arms and weapons for the existing Power Armour not long after they first were released. Unfortunately that never happened. Shame. I think some other arms (and legs) would be the solution for the existing models.

Start a poll here and link vinni to it? Might be more accessible than people spamming his Facebook page/ email. Though he may not pay it much heed in that case (people who go out of their way to contact him may be a better indicator of end users than just a one click job).

A good suggestion but I don't think it will work by itself. A poll is by its nature a singular thing that is easy to overlook or ignore. In comparison a flurry of imploring emails is much more impactive and liable to garner a positive response. As such I think there is arguably more mileage in a series of individual communications is our best bet!

I mean, would it not be easier to just get together and commission a few figures? There's clearly a fair few people interested...

Maybe the Ratnik guys would be interested? They are in Russia, do STALKER types already and have a relationship with Lead Adventure.

Yeas that's very helpful.

If I was anyway a good sculptor or had access to 3D printing then I would do this; however neither apply so I can't.

This is why I want brother Vinni, who has a proven track record to doing it.

It's the same reason that when I want a new car I don't do a degree in engineering and hand sculpt a Jaguar!

I have a suit of Enclave Hellfire Armour sitting there sculpted, just a pity I have no idea about resin casting. :(

I sent BV a message back when you posted this!

I ordered some of Brother Vinni's Fallout stuff from his online store back at Christmas.  I never got a shipping notice.  After two emails asking for a status update on the order, still no reply.  I'm starting to grow concerned.  Is this normal when ordering from BV?

Unfortunately, yes. It took three to four weeks for my order to arrive to California. It seems like they have a hard time filling orders and maintaining stock.

Yeah, I was under the impression that they don't do their own casting, and that they have a guy in Germany who does it for them.  That would definitely tack onto the time.  I'm currently at a little over a month on an order from Hasslefree, so I feel ya  :?

So I'm guessing there's not much taste for this then?

To be honest, since you`ve started this Thread and my replyin it, I had totally forgotten it!

Well since that day a lot of Things related to your question here have already been done. My wife had moan to get a T60 Armoured Paladin, which ended up in a whole set of different Poses and weapons. I have already dozens of requests for casts of them but not yet the molds because I was ill.

The Suit itself is very Variable and has already proven to be convertible in other Versions quite easy. I´ve already made a T60 and a T45b, if a T51b is requested in a larger amount it would be no problem to convert one Suit in that within a short time.

Again! I hadn`t that still in mind while working on my Versions, but if it would help to cover the needing on them, I would help.
The advantages are, that I´ve my own professional Resin Cast equipment and I´m not depended on an extern caster. Some people here have already recieve casts from me and can give a Feedback on them if necessary. The models are already made and only awaiting their molding.
The dark side is: I´ve made them in my modeling style and skilllevel. That means it maybe has not to fit anybodies personal taste. A second point to keep in mind, I´ve already made them in the "new" scale as they are intend to work  in the game now. That means the are bigger and bulkier as the BV ones and will NOT fit seemless to the BV Powerarmours!

What you guys do with that now is on you I just can show the different alternatives.

Cheers Delta

I had a similar situation with an order on brother vinni.
I Sent mails but not answer. But I put a claim on paypal and in a matter of hours they contacted and a couple of days later sent me a replacement with a tracked shipping this time.

My order (long time ago though!) took about 4-6 weeks to get to me. I found out mail coming from Russia is SLOW!
Title: Re: More Fallout Miniatures
Post by: Psychopomp on 04 February 2016, 12:52:32 PM

I expected a wait, and it's been about five weeks so I'm too flustered about not seeing miniatures.

What I'm flustered about is that I got an email saying my order was in "the processing" stage and I'd be receiving a shipping notice soon.  That was about a month ago.  In the meantime, two emails and a PM here have gotten no response.

I would guess with each new round of sanctions against Russia it will become more complicating for us little folk to trade. My first order over 2 Years ago came in 2 weeks. After the first round of sanctions, and the political issues between EU and Russia the second order came after 6 weeks and had 2!! Customs sticker to reclose on it (one polish and one german).

Unless he relocated to Russia, he should be in Slovakia and thus not suffering from those sanctions...
Look up his Facebook post from May 18 2015 :

And news:

We moved to Slovakia, the company now officially registered in Bratislava.

What does this mean?

European parcel will go faster, but payment on delivery in Russia, we are forced to cancel.

I remind you that we accept payment through paypal (which now work and in Russia too),
and you can pay via paypal by card, even if you are not registered in the system.

Well, given that I'm now quite past the two month maximum listed on Vinni's website, I started my PayPal claim.  We'll see how it works out for me.

If it ends in a refund, I'll probably be sending DeltaDog another PM...

Just shy of three months to the day after the order, I have my Brother Vinni miniatures.

The casts are fantastic.  I just don't know that I'd order again given that I had to open that Paypal dispute to get these.

We put in an order on March 20th for an assortment of sixteen minis. So far we have received a confirmation notice and a 'processing' notice.

Hope to be able to update this thread with good news, but I'm not expecting delivery to be terrifically quick.

Yeah, that's the extent of what I've received as well.  I wrote a visitor post on their facebook to see if that more public form of pestering might yield a response, but who knows.  ::)  As long as I get what I paid for eventually I guess I don't care much.

Check out the Brother Vinni Miniatures thread that Delta Dog so kindly provided a link for just a little higher on this page...  ;)

I'll go a step further and say that my friends and I were very satisfied by the service and quality of the models from Brother Vinni's Miniatures.
