Just completed a couple of Salvage Crew for Alpha Forge's Star mogul. I've replaced the "Sci-fi" weapons for modern ones so I can use them as Zombie Hunters aswell! ( Although the .357 is absolutely HUGE!!!). I also used a spare head from my WestWind bikers to make "Rufus" look a little different.
BOSS- Big AL

SQUAD LEADER- Rufus

The theme to my crew is "Army Veterens" so i'm sticking to a limited palette to give them a squad feel to them.

Very nice!

What do you think of the interchangeable heads Pappa?
On one hand I think it gives great individuality....but on the other...they sure are a pain!
Anyhow...I like these dudes ALOT.
My only suggestion would be some random blood spatters on the T-shirt Big Al has on. Unless he is the worlds cleanest Zombie hunter...lol
-
I quite like the interchangeable heads, as you they are great for creating individuals. Different weapons might have been a bonus aswell, although it's not too difficult to swap them around.
I was toying with making the boss nice and bloody ( not like me to use blood on my minis  ) but as I'm using him for Star Mogul aswell I thought it would look a little extreme. I suppose it could be grime or oil splatters...?

Oily blood?
That works for me!! LOL
The only thing I don't like about the heads, are the tiny little necks they are perched on....they invariable take a bit of greenstuff to flesh out....not the biggest problem in the world....but having that interchangeability is very nice, so the trade off is worth it.
Have you got that Dropship yet? (i think I am more excited about it than you are!  )

Knoxville: How rude of me not to acknowledge your comment. Thank you , glad you like them!
SV: I'm still waiting for it to shipped from Germany! I managed to get an ex-display model from a shop. It won't have the original box or anything but as I'm using it to convert rather than keep as it is, it doesn't matter!
I'll keep you posted.
BTW I may have dibs on another one from a Convention ( boxed etc) if it pans out i may have one for sale. If I do I'll keep you in mind!

Just finished another Crew memeber for Star Mogul which fits in with my idea of "Dual Purpose" miniatures. This time it's "LEVI" armed with a circular saw:

And here's the gang so far!

I love that guy PM! I can just see the salvage crew, working on dismatling some drifting hulk, then all of a sudden, the dead crew starts shambiling in! Levi grabs the circular saw and just5 goes to town on the undead!
Very Cool!

I like them. Big Al is my favevourite !

love the circular saw!

I love the minis! The dual action thing is perfect too.
I just got done painting the pointing guy and the circular saw guy, and I did my 'own' version of Big Al. We should have a Salvagers rumble!!
-
Thanks for the comments!
Operator5 : funny you should say that! Although I'm still working on my Zombie rules i've already thought about doing other settings like Victorian and Sci-fi etc. I'll probably do the core rules for modern and have a section on alternative settings.

Another new Hunter............salvage crew member joins the fray.
This time it's "Roxy" armed with a pump-action shotgun and a foul temper!

Uhhh... great painting! She really got a certain "Frauenknast" flair to her...

really interesting sculpt, like the model a lot. Manufacturer?

Thanks..........I think....what do Frauenknast mean? :?
Has it got anything to do with the fact she's one UGLY woman!
Prof, she's another salvage crew member from Alphaforges's Star Mogul game. The original mini had a futuristic rifle which wasn't suitable for modern period gaming. I replaced it with a Necromunda shotgun.

After a side track to the Old West ( I've been painting some buildings) I thought I'd get some more Zombie Hunters done.
This time it's "Slick Jimmy" a converted Alpha Forge Crewman.
He also doubles as my ship's pilot for Star Mogul!

Whoa! That one is the best of the lot so far, IMHO. Very cool, and I like the clothes colours.
Thanks..........I think....what do Frauenknast mean? Confused
Has it got anything to do with the fact she's one UGLY woman!
"Frauenknast" is a derogatory term for "women´s penitentiary", and the title of a hilariously bad "German jail soap opera", featuring a whole host of dysfunctional inmate characters with even worse haircuts.
In particular, she reminded me of "actress" Katy Karrenbauer:

(second from right)
who is actually not THAT untalented, but has to play the crappy caricature of a lesbian inmate godmother, so to speak. "Ridiculous" is the nicest term that comes to mind to describe that serial.

Wow. Another great one. That's it, my brushes are on the way to the bin. :x Via god knows how many ninis lined up.
Can't wait to see it in close up, at the weekend.

Pappa, excellent figure, I love the sawn off ! :)
I have always had a soft spot for a shotgun, especially when its been cut down to pistol size. I think it dates back to seeing James Caan in El Dorado or perhaps later in Mad Max, enough of my ramblings, great mini  :)
-
really great conversion!

Thanks for the Comments.
I've gone off at another tangent at the moment, I'm looking at modern military, like the USMC , Brit SAS etc. The idea being they would also make good multi genre figures aswell!

Going off on tangents is something that makes minis as a hobby so enjoyable....
I've wanted to do some modern military for a while too...please make sure you share your projects!!
