Title: Footsore Miniatures
Post by: Bloggard on 30 December 2015, 10:03:22 PM
not sure if this is the right board, but as my interest is in their Dark Ages range:

I'm being a little (cough) over-anxious here I suspect, particularly given the time of year, but was wondering if anyone can confirm that Footsore Miniatures are still 'with it' at the moment?

I've put in an order, and I've had what I take to be an automatically generated email acknowledgement, but have had no reply to a couple of 'contact' queries (one of which was a request to increase the order!).
Granted, this was only earlier yesterday (no, seriously  ::) ), but I guess I've been spoiled but such good responses from sellers, even just before Christmas.

Looking at their website, it doesn't seem to have been updated since quite a way back in 2015, and even though their facebook page shows much more recent activity, there is someone there asking, earlier this month, about 'outstanding orders' ...

I'm also surprised that there's nothing on the site about Christmas/ New year orders and absences, now I think I about it...

So if anyone can confirm from very recent experience that they're still on the case, I'd be mighty grateful.
I really need the order to be delivered before we go away for a while at the end of the next week which, again, explains my 'concern'.

I recieved my Order just before Christmas, it took way longer as usuall but they wrote me an Email that they are currently on vacation and others (though I do not Know who they are) are Packing and shipping the orders meanwhile. So I guess you just have to be patient.
Cheers

Footsore in the UK is run by Andrew Chesney who also works for Warlord I believe(?)

I'm probably making a huge leap here but they may well use the same caster(?). If so then it would be Warlord working hours that you're looking at.

Give it until after New Year and then follow it up maybe?

If you're really anxious I'd drop them a mail now and at least you'll be near the start of the email pile when they return to normality post NY.

Darrell.

thanks for the replies, gentlemen.

hope, as you say, that I get a response in the New Year, then.

As I say - I guess I've been spoiled (t?) with some of the CS I've had recently...

Since Musketeer Miniatures was closed we have not seen much  activity from Footsore. I believe they released some Saxons and Irish, but they never opened a US web store.

ok, thanks.

Jan / Lt. Hazel - have you any other email address than ' andrew.chesney@footsoreminiatures.co.uk ', as my queries to that one aren't getting through / answered?

More than understandable if they're on vacation etc, but i think it's not unreasonable to expect that a retailer put some details on their site about absences etc. and provide alt. contacts if possible.

As mentioned, it's just that I'd like to add a few figs to this order - I'm not going to go through check-out again and pay for postage twice etc.

Bloggard, your profile doesn't say where in the world you are based, it would help as Footsore have operations in both the UK and the US.

Bill T is still sculpting and at Historicon the Footsore stand was with Warlord Games.

Here is the link for the UK side of the business

crikey SM, that's very good of you.
I did check today, and I don't think the Paypal payment has been 'cashed' yet so that's fair enough.
I guess business is just 'on hold' due to the time of year etc.

But it would be good if there's someone I can get through to by email come the New Year; I either want to ensure I can get my order before the end of next week (doesn't look too likely) or delay it until we get back, late Jan.
The package could be too big for a standard uk letter box and if it's not tracked postage it might end up AWOL with us being away for a while.

Hi Bloggard,

Took some time for the registration to come through for me to be able to reply but here I am.

Could you PM me you name and order details so I can track down what's happening with it. I am up to date with replies to emails so if you haven't had a reply then there is a breakdown in one email server or another.

Will sort asap of course,

Regards, Andrew

Thanks to all the help from the other guys too :)

thanks for posting Andrew - I've sent you both a PM and an email (although this latter seems to be the same one I've been trying since placing my order).

thanks,

Marc

I fully concur with Bloggard.

I've got Footsore Anglo Danish/Saxon Thegns and Ceorls and they are lovely.

Some that have been painted up and included among Saxon Miniatures, Gripping Beast and Foundry are featured in this thread if anyone is interested? (Good for Size Comparisons):
