The New Year kicked off with a new project. One that was long overdue revisiting. 25 years ago my dad and step mum introduced me and my brother to HeroQuest. We'd spend many an evening playing the game and great fun was had.
Four years later I was bought the Warhammer 4th edition box set and thus my slow decline into hoarding bits of plastic and metal well and truly began lol
At the same time as painting all of the goblins I tried painting the HeroQuest miniatures to horrific effect.
So now is the time I finally paint them to a standard I'm happy with. 3 days into the new year and I have painted 4 miniatures toward the project, which by my ordinarily slow standards is super fast.
Orc, Dwarf adventurer (from Statuesque Miniatures), Skeleton and a Slaaneshi Chaos Warrior (inspired by Bruenor Odinson's colour scheme)

Bice work. The metals look great on the weapons.

Very cool! I love these threads...sadly I no longer have any board games from my youth, but I wish I did.
-
looking cool and luv it !

Thanks all.
Staying with the Chaos warriors, A Chaos Warrior of Khorne. I'll be doing Tzeentch, Nurgle and Chaos Undivided also.
-
And another Chaos Warrior finished. My favourite to paint so far.

Nice painting jobs. It has me wanting to dig my old HeroQuest models out.
-
Heroquest - the old classic! I wonder how many lead/plastic addictions were started thanks to this board game?
As the others have said, great work on these, especially the metallics.

It seems I failed to add a couple of updates to this thread. A group shot which includes another Orc and a goblin, my barbarian, finished at the end of last year, and another Chaos Warrior, painted a few weeks ago.

Looks great!

I think I like painting these guys a bit too much. With so many monsters to paint from the game I've done another Chaos Warrior. With good reason though as I wanted to complete the Warriors for each of the four brother gods of chaos.
So, finally, we have Tzeentch. I've nicknamed him Stealy Gene.

And the line up: Tzeentch, Nurgle, classic box paintjob, Slaanesh and Khorne.

Brilliant colors and an imaginative way to base non Hero Quest models in a way that they fit the game:)
-

Very nice bunch there.

Painted these undead chaps watching Conan the Barbarian last night. It was like being ten again except I can paint slightly better these days lol

They look awesome! Great work!

They look great.
I have just painted the barbarian myself. And I am now feeling the urge to paint the rest of the game. As he was most enjoyable.
